Within the first few days of moving your Sim into their first home, they will likely get a creepy text from Vladislaus Straud regarding the beauty of their neck. Soon enough, you will start to see him skulking around their front yard and even knocking on their door to be let in. This should be enough to spring your Sim into action to keep him as far away from their home as possible.
Research Vampire Lore
The first step is tolevel up the Vampire Lore skill. You will need to reachat least level fiveto unlock the abilityto create vampire-proof items.
To begin learning this skill,go to the computer and select the vampire secrets menu. In this menu, you will see an option tolearn more about vampires.
Once you’re atlevel two, you’ll need topurchase the Encyclopedia Vampirica booksto level up further. These books canonly be purchased in the vampire secrets menu on the computer.
Volume One will get you to about level six, which is enough to begin crafting these objects.
Garlic
They just simply aren’t a vampire if they like garlic. This age-old classic is the go-to defense against the bloodthirsty creatures. Your Sim canget garlic seeds by purchasing them from the computer,or by clicking on an empty planter, just like any other seed. One garlic seed will yield about ten bulbs, so your vampire defense can become pretty hefty.
As long as your Sim isat least level five in the Vampire Lore skill, they will have the ability tocraft garlic items. They can creategarlic braids, garlic garlands, and garlic wreaths, all of whichcan be hung around the home. The more, the merrier! And the smellier.
A Sim with garlic in their inventory is more likely to win in a fight against a vampire!
A vampire Sim who gets near any of these objects will receivethe “Garlic Induced Irritation” buff, which gives them anuncomfortable moodletthat will work towards warding them off. Just be aware that some vampire Sims may have unlockedthe Garlic Immunity power, making them immune to your efforts.
Vampire Resistance Cocktail
Your Sim will have tofurther their studies into Vampire Loreto unlock this drink.
Atlevel 12of the skill, your Sim will be able tocreate the Vampire Resistance Cocktail at any bar. After drinking it, your Sim will gain theVampire Resistance moodletwhich makes themimmune to the powers of vampires.

Lock Your Doors
It can’t be that easy…right? It’s common knowledge thatvampires can’t come in unless invited, and they consider an unlocked door an open invitation.Lock every exterior door to only allow access for the household, and most vampires won’t be able to come in.
Most, that is.Some vampires may have unlocked the Eternally Welcome vampire power, which gives them the ability to unlock doors and enter any home. But, this shouldn’t be too much of a concern.
Don’t Worry About Unplayed Vampires Powers
You shouldn’t be concerned about vampires with the Eternally Welcome power becauseAI-controlled vampires won’t use any of their vampire powersagainst innocent human Sims. Unless your Sim picks a fight with a vampire, they should be fine.
If you’re playing as the vampire, though, there may be some other Sims in the household that don’t find them trustworthy, and they may want to hang up a few garlic wreaths. Just in case.

The Cure
What’s the best way to prevent a vampire from sucking your blood? Turning them back into a human, of course!
There are15 levels in total for the Vampire Lore skill, and the reward for maxing out the skill is receiving the recipe forThe Ultimate Vampire Cure, which happens to be a drink!
You’ll need to have the ingredients on hand to make it though:
As you progress through the Vampire Lore skill, you will have received seeds for all three of those items. So, ensure your Sim has some gardening skills, too.
If you tried and failed to care for these plants, you’re able to go back and by more seeds through the vampire secrets menu on your computer.
Also, make sure that you keep the ingredients in your fridge at home or in your inventory in order to make them useable.
Wolfsbane can also be found in the woods in Forgotten Hollow.
Once you craft this drink, any vampire Sim you give it to will immediately turn back into a human! It may be a little tricky to get a Sim that’s outside your household to drink it, but it won’t be impossible.Try to use the “Make Drink For…” option in the menu, and the Sim you are trying to cure will be more inclined to drink it.
A vampire Sim making this cocktail won’t be able to harvest the garlicneeded to make the drink for themselves. Have a trusted Sim harvest it for them and place it in their inventory, where the effects, somehow, won’t work on the vampire Sim.
After all this, you should be safe from being bitten. In the improbable occasion that these defenses weren’t enough and your Sim still gets turned, you can use your knowledge to rid yourself of vampirism–the drink will also work on the Sim who makes it.
