As you progress in the main story ofHonkai: Star Rail, you’ll go to different planets using the Astral Express. You also unlock new areas as you go through the story and understand the planet. In each section of the planet, you’ll see a certain number of chests at the top left when you’re on the map screen.
This number shows you how many Basic chests you can collect in the area. You’ll also find some puzzle-related or Formidable Foe chests that are marked with their own icon. If you get all of these chests, you’ll be swimming in Stellar Jades and other items.
Administrative District Chest Locations
When you’re close to a chest in any area, you’llhear a faint glowing sound along with the glow from the chest itself. Here’s how you can find them all in Administrative District:
How To Get

Found infront of an iron gate right beside the Space Anchorat the bottom right side of the area.

You’ll see this chestbeside a wall inside a restaurant areawith a bunch of chairs and tables.

You can see itbeside some crates and a Silvermane Guardguarding the entrance to the Qlipoth Fort.

Foundnear a bunch of peoplenear the fountain area.

This chest islocated in front of a trash cannear one of the exits at the bottom.

Go up the stairway leading to the Goethe Grand Hotel andyou’ll find it in an alley beside the entrance.

You can go down the stairway and reach the entrance to the station below Belobog.The chest will be beside a Silvermane Guard.

Once you reach the required area,the chest will be well hidden behind three boardsthat look alike.

You cansee this chest in the openat the location marked above.

This chest can only be unlocked after you’re at the end of Jarilo-VI story where you finally open the passage between Belobog and Underground Belobog.It can be found in the station that was blocked before.
Outlying Snow Plains Chest Locations
There are only a few chests in this area of Jarilo-VI, and here’s how to get them:
ThisWarp Trotter can be foundbeside some snowy rocks at the location.
Found in the opennear the Warp Trotter that you defeatedfor the first reward.
This Formidable Foe chestcan be seen on the mapand you’ll have to defeat a giant Ice enemy to get it.
The final chest in this area can befound behind the buildingwhere you fought the Ice Formidable Foe.
Backwater Pass Chest Locations
Backwater Pass has a bunch of unique puzzles apart from the eight Basic Chests, and here’s how you get them all:
Teleport to the top right Space Anchor or the nearby Golden Calyx andenter the little alley to find the chestat its edge.
Go out of the alley where you found the first chest and enter the path to your right. This path will unlock on the map when you enter andyou’ll have to fight two Fire Fragmentum monstersto get the chest.
This chest can be found on theother side of the locked door with a mechanismto unlock it. The door will open as soon as you press the mechanism.
You’ll get this chest after solving a small puzzle at the location.
Head back to the divided path near the Space Anchor and you’llfind the chest in the open at the location.
Open the locked door using the mechanism and you’llfind a Warp Trotter hanging out in the front.
Keep going up the alley beside the Warp Trotter andyou’ll find this chest in a cornerafter crossing a few enemies.
You’ll most likely already have the door near the seventh chest unlocked during the main quest. You simply have to get past it and thechest will be right beside the dooron the other side.
Keep going straight into the open area through this door and thischest will be behind a barrel and some green bars.
Go back to the door near the Space Anchor and enter the alley to the right after you cross it.Take the first left and you’ll find a broken robot on a puzzle icon. Rotate the mechanisms according to the picture.

You’ll see the Formidable Foe right in front of this robot. You’ll have todefeat a giant Fire enemy to get this chest.

The final chest can be found in an alleynear the Formidable Foe.
Silvermane Guard Restricted Zone Chest Locations
This area will have some interesting mechanics with the giant rotating wheel, and here’s how to get them:
Teleport to the top right Space Anchor and you’llfind this chest near a tentright before you enter the narrow path.
Go down the stairs and take a U-turn tofind this chest near several trash cans.
You’ll see a broken robot to the right of the second chest (not the one in the trash can).Rotate the circles according to the picture and follow the robot.
Rotate the giant middle bridge until you have the path leading to the right side. Go to the right side andclimb a set of stairs to find the chestnear a locked door.
Rotate the wheel counter-clockwise once more or go to the Space Anchor to your right.You’ll find this chest at the bottom level near a tent.
Teleport to the Stagnant Shadow if you have it unlocked orgo through the Guard area to get to this chest.
Rotate the big wheel counter-clockwise once more and you can get to the area on your right. Keep going until you enter the middle area with a giant device.The chest will be on your right as you enter.
You’ll find this chest in asmall alley with a Silvermane Guardin the designated location.
TheWarp Trotter will be found behind some Silvermane Guardsat the location.
This chest can be foundnear the Warp Trotterat the end of a small alley.
You’ll find a broken robot near a closed door at the location.Rotate the circles according to the picturesand follow the robot to get this chest.
This chest can be found rightbehind the area where you met Serval’s friend.
Corridor Of Fading Echoes Chest Locations
Here are all the chests in the fifth area of Jarilo-VI:
Start at the bottom Space Anchor andyou’ll find this chest beside a doorin the alley to the left.
The puzzle icon for this chest can be seen on the map. Rotate the circles according to the picture andfollow the robot to get your chest. You’ll have to defeat a bunch of enemies along the way.
Found in asmall corner areaon the path of the robot.
You’ll see this chest beingguarded by a Formidable Foewhile you’re following the robot for the second chest.
This chest will be right beside where the robot stops in alittle corner area with a door.
The Warp Trotter will be foundright ahead of where the robot finishes its journey.
You’ll find agiant Fragmentum Formidable Foebeside the mechanism that’ll open the door.
Cross the door near the second chest and you’llfind this chest on your right when you enter an open part.
Keep going straight past the Space Anchor andthis chest will be on your rightas you enter the narrow path.
Enter the big square area ahead and thischest will be on your right in the open.
Go down the path to the very right of this square area andgo to your right to find this chest on the way.
The Formidable Foe guarding this chest can befound at the end of the pathyou’ll follow to get to chest 11.

You’ll find another broken robot at the marked location. Use the picture to solve the puzzle andfollow it through the bridge. If you can’t get on the bridge, you’ll have to go back to the square area and use the other path leading down.

If you use the other path to get to the bridge,you’ll find this chest as soon as you cross the door.

This chest will be found at theend of the robot’s pathwhen you’re getting chest 13.
Everwinter Hill Chest Locations
Compared to most areas in Jarilo-VI, Everwinter Hill is significantly smaller with much lesser chests:
Teleport to the right Space Anchor andyou’ll find this chest guarded by a mage enemyat the location.
Go back up the stairs and down the other stairs. You’ll find this chestright beside the stairs on the left side.
This will be near the second chest on theother side of the stairs.
Keep going down this path andyou’ll find a Warp Trotterwith two globe enemies.
The final chest can befound at the end of this pathin Everwinter Hill.
Pillars Of Creation Chest Locations
Pillars of Creation is one of the first places released in the Version 1.4 update, and here are all the chest locations in it:
Teleport to the top Space Anchor in the Pillars of Creation area andhead up a few stairsto find this chest on your right.
Head over to the bottom Anchor in the same area and you’llfind this chest beside a bridge being guardedby some soldiers and robots.
Right in front of the guarded bridge near the second chest above, you’ll see a bunch of tents and people hanging out in it. You’ll find this chestbeside one of the tentson the left while entering the area.
This chest is tucked in a corner beside a table where a bunch of people aremaking plans for the future.
You’ll have to go up a slope that looks like a broken bridge and turn right. You’ll see arobot and an NPC hanging outat the edge with the chest beside them.
Old Weapon Testing Ground Chest Locations
This is the second area released in the Version 1.4 update, and here are all the chests you’ll find on it:
There are only two teleports in this area, and the second one only gets activated if you play the Aetherium Wars event. Teleport to either of these and you’llfind the chest tucked in a corner at the location.
If you’ve done the Aetherium Wars event, you can find this chest in the extended area where you talk to peoplebetween the Final Showdown battles.
Use the stairs to head near the main arena and turn right to see this chestright under the extended platformwhere you found the second chest.
This chest can easily be located to theleft of the stairs you just used. Be careful while breaking the Destructible Object near this chest since this will trigger a section where you’ll have to fight an Elite or pay them.
Use the elevator to head down to the main arena and go over to the main stage. As soon as the path opens up,turn right and you’ll see this chest in the open.
Boulder Town Chest Locations
Boulder Town is the main city of the underground area and here are all the chest locations in it:
Teleport to the top right Space Anchor in Boulder Town andyou’ll find this chest in the cornerat the location.
Keep going to the bottom of the map from the first chest and you’ll go up a set of stairs.This chest can be found in a small alleyabove.
Get out of the small alley where you found the second chest andthis one will be on your left near a trash can.
Godown the slope near the third chestand this chest will be on your right.
You’ll see a small alley to the left near the Space Anchor in the bottom left direction.The chest will be in this alley.
Head inside the small alleyright in front of the alley where you found the fifth chestto get this one.
Go out of the other path from the sixth chest’s alley andyou’ll see the chest right in front of you.
Great Mine Chest Locations
All the chests in the Great Mine can be found here:
Teleport to the top Space Anchor and take the path going upward. When you get past the slope,this chest will be on your right.
Get past the bridge up top and head into the hidden path on your left. You’ll find this Basic Treasureat the very end of this path.
Get to the location andsolve the robot puzzle using the picture. Follow the robot to get the chest.
You’ll find this chestbeside the Space Anchorwhile you’re following the robot.
Keep going down the path and you’llsee this chest in a little area extending to your left.
You’ll see a little path to your right that’ll reveal a new area on the map as you get in. This chest will befound in this area near some tents.
The chest will be in the open when you get to the area.
you may either follow the path to reach this location or teleport to the Stagnant Shadow nearby.You’ll have to fight an Automatonto get this Formidable Foe chest.
This can befound in a hidden passagewayas you reach its end.
You’ll see this chest marked as a Formidable Foe on the map, andyou’ll have to fight two waves of enemies to get it.
Can be found in the open at the location.
You’ll find this chest nearSeele and a sitting NPC at the location. It’ll be tucked beside a tent.
The Warp Trotter can befound near a house doorat the location.
Found near the Warp Trotter in the open.
River Town Chest Locations
Rivet Town is one of the areas that had to beabandoned because of the Fragmentum Infestation, and here’s how you can get all its chests:
Teleport to the bottom Space Anchor and go up the stairs. Cross the bridge andyou’ll find this chest on your left.
Keep going on the path and defeating enemies until you see alittle hidden area to your left. This chest can be found there.
Go down one set of stairs and you’ll see a little working area with thischest near some Ore crates.
Go down the second set of stairs and you’ll find thischest near the Space Anchor.
You’ll most likely see this chest while you’re getting the fourth one.
After claiming the fifth chest, go back to the Space Anchor andfollow the path down on the other side. Keep to your right and you’ll see a hidden area where you can get this puzzle chest.
Keep going into this area and you’llfind this chest after fighting a Formidable Foe.
Go back out to the area with the rail on the ground and you cansee this chest in the open at the location.
Keep following the rail until you reach a broken cart andthis chest will be right behind it.
As you enter this path, the door will be closed and you’ll have to go all the way around. The Warp Trottercan be found in a tiny alley here.
An Ice Formidable Foe can be found hereguarding the chest and the door mechanism.
This is another Formidable Foe chest guarded by some Fragmentum enemies.
You have togo up a set of stairsto find this chest in the open.
Robot Settlement Chest Locations
Here are all the chest locations for the final area in Jarilo-VI:
Teleport to the topmost Space Anchor in the area andgo down the slope to see this cheston your right.
Follow the path andyou’ll see this chest in a secluded areato your left.
Cross the bridge and turn left tosee this chest beside Clara and Svarog.
Head back out to the middle of this area and enter the path to your left. You’llsee this chest to your left after going up a set of stairs.
Keep going down the stairs andyou’ll see the Warp Trotter in the open.
At the end of this area, you’ll find this Formidable Foe chestguarded by two small robots.
Teleport to theCalyx or Space Anchor to the left on a different floorand you’ll see this chest in the open.
Go back to the Space Anchor and take the left path when it gets divided.Take the right path next and you’ll find this chest.
Another Formidable Foe chest guarded by an Automaton.
Cross the middle area again and you’ll see the path getting divided into three. Go to theend of the leftmost path to get this chest.
This is a Formidable Foe chest found in the middle path. Theenemy you have to beat for this chest is quite hard to fight.
Enter the third path and you can interact with the giant machine to trigger a puzzle.Use the picture to finish this puzzle and get the final chest.
Apart from all these chests, you can also get some fromcertain Adventure Missions that you’ll find in different areas.
