In total, you will need to find five monsters and take a picture of them. In this guide, we are going to take a look at how to complete every portion of A Monstrous Collection. This will include how to begin the quest, as well as each monster’s location on the map.
Traveling To Tarrey Town
A Monstrous Collection, as well as all prerequisites, occur in Tarrey Town.As such, you will need to visit this modular town before getting started.
Tarrey Town can befound in the Akkala Highlands, with the closest tower being theUlri Mountain Skyview Tower. From here, just glide to the southeast, towards the Torin Wetlands. This area also serves as the Hudson Construction Site.
At the rightmost edge of the area, you will see arollercoaster-like track that takes you straight to Tarrey Town.
There is no Shrine in the town, however, you may find the Rasitakiwak Shrine to the southeast; this is right above a large flat area, where you can eventuallymake your own house.
If you have access to theTravel Medallions, we suggest popping one down in Tarrey Town for quick access.
Prerequisites To Start A Monstrous Collection
Once you make it to Tarrey Town, you will need to complete a short quest for Hudson’s family, calledMattison’s Independence. This is Hudson’s daughter, who is about to leave for Gerudo Town.
Overall, this quest is relatively short. After completing it, head to Hudson and Kilton, who can be found on thenorth edge of town, near a grass stage.
To kick off the quest line, speak with Kilton. After a brief conversation with him and Hudson, you will be able to give him images of monsters that will then be made into statues that can be placed on the stage area.
To complete each step, you will need toplace the monster statue on the stage and talk to Kilton again. After doing so, Kilton will call all residents to look at the statue, and then give you a reward.
A Monstrous Collection 1
The first monster that Kilton is looking for is aBokoblin. This monster is pretty much everywhere in Hyrule;nearly all monster camps will have Bokoblin. All you need to do is take a picture from a distance.
If you prefer to avoid the fight, you canjust zoom in close and take a picture. It doesn’t have to look the best; Hudson will still be able to make the statue.
The statues made will anexact recreation of the monster. This includes recreating theposeandweaponsbeing held.
As a reward for this quest step, you will earn oneMonster Extract. This is a “suspicious spice”, that can be used to make monstrous versions of meals that look purple. Essentially, thisincreases the buffs that you receive from cooking food.
A Monstrous Collection 2
Now, it’s time to move on to the second step of the quest. For this section, you will need to take a picture of aHorriblin. These arecave-dwelling monstersthat often hang from the ceiling.
If you are having trouble finding a Horriblin,we suggest heading to the Passeri Greenbelt Cave. This cave is to the west of Lookout Landing. It should be easy to spot, as the cave has some skull-like decorations around the entrance, marking it as a monster camp. Right as you enter, there should be a Horriblin hanging from the ceiling.
As a reward for this quest step, you will earn one Monster Extract, as well as a SneakyMonster Soup.
A Monstrous Collection 3
For the third Monstrous Collection, you will now need to take a picture of aBattle Talus.Thankfully, there is a Battle Taluspretty close to Tarrey Town.
From Rasitakiwak Shrine, follow the path leading to the south, through Kaepora Pass.Right before the bridge, you will see a flat portion of land. From a distance, there seems to be a monster camp here, butupon closer inspection, it is a Battle Talus.
Again, you won’t have to actually engage in battle and defeat the Battle Talus if you don’t want to.Get close enough to cause the Battle Talus to rise from the ground, snap a pic, and then run away!
As a reward for this quest step, you will earn one Monster Extract, as well as the Monster Bridle for your horse.
A Monstrous Collection 4
For the second-to-last portion of A Monstrous Collection, you will need a picture of aFrox. This is a unique monster that canonly be found in the Depths.
The Depthsholds many Frox monsters. To find one quickly, head to Hyrule Field Chasm. This should be the first Chasm that you dived into while working tounlock the Camera featureon your Purah Pad.
From here, head northwest. The location of the Frox can be seen on the map above. This is roughly under the Passeri Greenbelt Cave (near Lookout Landing), which we mentioned above as a location that holds Horriblin.
As a reward for this quest step, you will earn one Monster Extract, as well as the Monster Saddle for your horse.
A Monstrous Collection 5
Lastly, it’s time to complete A Monstrous Collection 5. For this final portion, you will need to take a picture of aKing Gleeok.Gleeoks are three-headed dragons that can be found around the surface of Hyrule. These surface Gleeoks aren’t worthy of the ‘King’ title though;to find a King Gleeok, you will need to take to the skies.
There areonly three King Gleeoks in the game. The easiest one to reach is in theHebra Sky.To reach this King Gleeok, teleport to the Wind Temple and face southwest, towards the West Hebra Sky Archipelago. If you have already visited this Archipelago, you can teleport to theIjo-o Shrine.
From this Archipelago, continue to face southwest, towards a round-shaped platform on the map. This round sky island is where the King Gleeok can be found.
Unfortunately, you will need to get rather close to take this picture. We suggestusing a Fanplane to reach this island, and then hiding behind a pillar. Here, you canquickly pull out your camera and take a picture of the King Gleeok. If you are feeling courageous, you may battle the massive dragon. If not, you can jump down and dive to the ground, or teleport back to Tarrey Town.
Like other Gleeoks, the King Gleeok has three heads. Rather than having just one elemental attack, each head will harness a different element.
As a reward for this quest step, you will earn one Monster Extract, as well as aDiamond.
From here, the quest is done! You cancontinue to show Kilton and Hudson monsters to make new statues, but you will no longer get any rewards.
