TheJoku-usin Shrineis, perhaps, one of the dicier shrines to locate and complete. In fact, to make your life easier, you should complete a bulk of the mainline story before even attempting to track it down. You’ll see what we mean below in our step-by-step guide.
3How To Locate the Joku-usin Shrine
So, let’s get right to it. The Joku-usin Shrine is located on theThunderhead Isles. Yep, the big islands covered in a perpetual storm that make it impossible to see five feet in front of you.
You could just head on over to thePopla Foothills Skyviewtower andglide southwest into the stormand attempt to make your way from island to island nearly blind. But this method would be rather frustrating.
The best method is to wait until you’ve cleared the storm throughcompleting a series of mainline story missions. Here are thetwo mainline story missions, each with its own series of objectives, that you will need to complete to clear the storm from Thunderhead Isles:
Traveling To the Joku-usin Shrine
The easiest method of reaching Thunderhead Isles is to use thePopla Foothills Skyview Tower and glide southwest. Just make sure you’ve bolstered your stamina a bit to endure the glide. Once you reach the first of the floating islands, begin making your way toward the center.
You’ll see from the map that the islands look like a winding serpent or dragon. The Joku-usin shrine is in the center of it.
To hop from island to island, you’ll have tomake extensive use of your abilities, especially ascend.
Even though the heavy storm will have cleared away so that you’re able to at least see where you’re going, it will still be raining.Remove items that attract lightning strikes, and alsoforget about just climbing everything(unless you have the necessary upgraded no-slip armor to do so). Ascend, your glider, and your ability to craft are your friends here.
Eventually, you will reach the center island, where you’ll seethe shrine encased in a large rocky structure. Arailing runs underneathit. You’ll need tograb some boards and fans (or anything you prefer to use from your own inventory) to glide across the rail underneathand thenascend up through the floor.
Once inside, you now have access to the Joku-usin shrine.
2Completing The Joku-usin Shrine
You might wish that this shrine is a Rauru’s Blessing shrine where you’re able to just walk in and claim your prize and walk out. Those typically occur in shrines that are difficult to reach, as traveling there is the ultimate task. But you’d be mistaken with the Joku-usin shrine. It’s aProving Grounds trial.
That’s right, you’re stripped of your gear once again and must eliminate the constructs throughout the arena. With that said, here are some tips for defeating the constructs at play:
1Rewards
Once the shrine is completed, your gear will be returned to you just like other Proving Grounds shrines. You will then be able to collect theLight of Blessing. However, before doing so, there is a chest available.
Inside is anElectro Elixir. This one, in particular, grants you a high level of electricity resistance lasting well over 11 minutes. So, this is a pretty valuable find.
