Rare stones are a requirement inThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomfor the adventurer looking to upgrade their equipment and make a decent income, and none are as valuable as the illustriousDiamond. As rare as they come, you’ll want to make sure you get your hands on as many as possible to grow your defenses and your wallet.

RELATED:Of course, you could always go the cheap way to grab one and duplicate as many Diamonds as you’d like, but whether you’re looking for just the one to get started or going the honorable route, you’ll have a plethora of options on how you get your hands on Hyrule’s rarest gemstone.

Completing Shrines

Sometimes, you’ll receive aDiamond as a reward from chests inside shrines.Although rare finds in the general scheme of shrines, they are guaranteed gifts to at least get you started. The following shrines each have a confirmed Diamond:

Dondons

Within thetropical area around Lake Floria, there is a camp ofspecial creatureson thewestern bank north of Lakeside Stable. These creatures areknown asDondons, andfeeding them aLuminous Stonemay grant you the chance at a Diamond(though they may also gift Rubies or other such gemstones).

There isno known wait time for the Luminous Stone conversion(most estimates and tests reveal this to be somewhere around the 15-minute mark in real time), but itisn’t a quick method. You can make the most of this method byfeeding each of the five Dondonsand coming back after a long period of adventuring.

Purchasing From Goron City

Although thislikely isn’t something you’d normally want to do(since Diamonds are generally sold for profit), you might want to get your hands on a quick diamond for either your equipment or to start an item duplication chain.

Whatever your reason, you can findDiamonds for sale from a merchant in Goron City.Near thecenter of town, you can find this shop merchantnear the bridgeselling three Diamonds for1,000 rupees each.

Ore Deposits

Although muchrarer and one of the least reliable methods to farm Diamonds, you may find these rare gems bybreaking ore deposits in any part of Hyrule.Ore deposits that are most likely to drop diamonds are those that have either awhite or yellow sparklearound them, but breaking them still isn’t a guarantee you’ll get a diamond.

Thebest places for farmingusing this method are generallyaround the Eldin regionwith its numerous caves and ore deposits. Themonster den near the lizard lakes (Lake Darman)is a good place to farm, allowing you to multitask your diamond-farming journeywhile defeating monsters and earning rupees for your efforts.

Stone Talus

Within the Depthsare numerous strong enemies that give rewards equal to the challenge they present. Among those are theStone Talus.

Although defeating themisn’t a guarantee for Diamonds, necessarily, they doalways drop some form of rare material, making them well-worth the challenge. Generally, the more difficultand beefy these stocky stones are,the more valuable the resourcesyou’ll likely find. Therefore, even though Stone Talus can be found in several areas above ground, thestrong Talus in the Depths are the most likely to reward your efforts with a Diamond.

Breath of the Wild - Stone Talus

The elemental type of a Stone Talus does not seem to effect the Diamond rate drops except in Talus noted as “Luminous Talus,” in which case Diamonds were not noted to drop on any occasion (but still may be possible as an extremely rare drop).

Late-Content Rewards

Withintreasure chests in late-game contentare Diamonds that are given as a reward. Although these chests are rare and often difficult to reach, they offer an opportunity to gain Diamonds along your later journey when armor-upgrading is sorely needed.
