Koltin is a new character inThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom! He’s a strange fellow, there’s no doubt about it, but he’s managed to weasel his way into our hearts just the same. We’re sure it has nothing to do with all thepresents he offers you, if you just collect enough Bubbul Gems for him.

After meeting Koltin for the first time, he and his gigantic hot air balloon might be found after dark at a few different places around Hyrule! This is a bit annoying if you’re looking to score those aforementioned gifts, sowe’ve detailed all his possible locations (and how to know which spot he’s currently camped out in).

Meeting Koltin For The First Time

The first time you encounter Koltin, he will always be at the Woodland Stable location (detailed below). There, you learn that he is the brother of Kilton, the fellow who sold you special items in Breath of the Wild.Koltin wants desperately to become a Satori,so he asks you to bring him Bubbul Gems. Bubbul Gems drop from Bubbul Frogs inside caves all over Hyrule, so there are plenty to be found.

Once you help Koltin out with the first Bubbul Gem, he’ll eagerly ask you to bring more! At this point, he begins to travel all over Hyrule in his brother’s instantly-recognizable, enormous, makeshift hot air balloon. This makes him easily noticed at a distance if you happen to pass nearby.Koltin’s balloon can be found at any of five possible locations from now on, which we’ve outlined carefully below. He can only be foundat night after 9pm.If you ever want to know exactly where he is, just visit Tarrey Town!Kiltonwill settle down there at coordinates 3961, 1642, 0128, and hecan tell you where his brother is.

From the Woodland Stable or the nearby Ekochiu Shrine, head eastalong the edge of Pico Pond.Alternatively, you could go west from the Eldein Canyon Skyview Tower. You’llfind Kilton outside of a caveentrance on the water’s edge.

Koltinmay set up shop again north of where his brother settles downin Tarrey Town. If he does, you’ll be able to see his balloon from there. It’son a peak of Ulri Mountain.

The easiest way to get to him is to go from east from Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower. However, if you’ve just spoken to his brother in Tarrey Town, you could also head through the mining operation and up towards the South Akkala Stable, where the Mayachideg Shrine is. From there, it’s an easy, if slightly tedious, process toclimb up the mountain.

Koltin’s Farosh Hills location isa bit of an outlier, because he usually sets up shop somewhere you could easily spot him and his balloon. To that end, he’s usually somewhere near a hub where you’d go to rest, like a stable or a town. In the Farosh hills, he’s a little harder to find. The nearest tower, the Popla Foothills Skyview Tower, is decently north of him, and the nearest stable, the Highland Stable, is decently south of him.

To reach Koltin here, it’s easiest tostart at the Popla Foothills Skyview Tower and head south,or the Jiukoum Shrine and head south-west. We recommend the tower route, if you have it unlocked, since it’s easier to glide up and sail down towards Koltin than to trudge across the terrain to reach him if you start from the Shrine.

Koltin’s location in the Tabantha Tundra is straightforward and simple, thankfully! He’son a cliff overlooking the Tanagar Canyon, close to the Forgotten Temple, so there’s no climbing necessary.

Start from the Snowfield Stable,or the nearby Orochium Shrine, and look for Koltin to the south-east. His giant balloon is hard to miss, even through a blizzard. Watch out, though, because Bokoblins love to ride horses around this area and attack through the haze of snow.

You can also spy Koltin and his balloon justsouth of Lookout Landing, a place you’re probably intimately familiar with.

He camps out neara small patch of trees in Hyrule Field,in a region called the Passeri Greenbelt. You can get to him by starting at the Lookout Landing Skyview Tower and heading south, or the Jiosin Shrine and heading north. Keep an eye out for Evermeans.
