Uniques are very rare but equally as powerful pieces of equipment inDiablo 4. Some Uniques can elevate builds to new levels, while others provide consistent and fun new effects to play around with. As if normal Uniques weren’t rare enough, there are also seven Uber Uniques that can be found with extremely low drop rates.

One of the most powerful Uber Uniques is the Grandfather Two-Handed Sword for Barbarians and Necromancers. Below, we’ll take a look at everything there is to know about this sword, including what it does and how to find it.
The Grandfather Unique Effect Explained
The Grandfatheris a Unique Two-Handed Sword that has the following special effect.
Increases your Critical Strike Damage by [60-100]%.
The Grandfather has a simple but powerful Unique effect. While equipped, all of your Critical Strikes will deal 60 to 100 percent more damage, depending on what stats the weapon rolls, on top of whatever your current Critical Strike Damage is. This leads tobeefy Critical Strikesandtons of extra damage, just from a single item.
The only downside is that youwon’t be able to use certain Legendary Aspectson the Main or Off-hand slots that may be required for your build. However, the Grandfather is easily powerful enough to incentivebuilding around its effect, if you’re lucky enough to get one.
How To Get The Grandfather
As an Uber Unique, the Grandfather has a few restrictions to its drop rate. First, itcan only drop from level 85 and above monsters. This means you’ll either need to be level 85 yourself or clear Nightmare Dungeons that are at least this level.
Of course, that also means you’ll need to be inWorld Tier 4for the Grandfather to drop, as enemies only appear at level 85 in this World Tier.
Besides these two requirements, the Grandfather can drop fromalmost any activity in the game. Anywhere you can get normal Legendaries and Uniques, you can find the Grandfather. We recommend clearingNightmare Dungeonsof at leastTier 31, at which point you’ll find enemies at or above level 85.
Also, keep in mind thatthe Grandfatherwill only drop for Barbarians or Necromancers. Be sure to play on one of these two classes to ensure the Grandfather is in the loot table!
