Final Fantasygames usually have tons of side content to challenge outside of the main story. Side quests, mini-games, and fighting Superbosses are just a few of the things you’re able to do in between saving the world.

You may be surprised to learn that this tradition dates back to the original Final Fantasy, with the first Superboss Warmech. This enemy has an extremely low encounter rate, which can make finding it difficult. Below, you can find out where exactly you can encounter the Warmech, as well as how to beat it.
Where To Find The Warmech
The Warmech can only befound in the Flying Fortress, the dungeon floating in the sky above the Mirage Tower. In the Flying Fortress, you can only encounter the Warmech on thenarrow bridge just before the boss fight against Tiamat. There Warmech does not spawn anywhere else in the Flying Fortress.
The Warmech has anencounter rate of 3/64, or a roughlyfour percent chanceto encounter it with each battle. Due to the random nature of encountering the Warmech, you may find it on your first battle, or your two-hundredth.
How To Beat The Warmech
The Warmech has2000 healthin the Pixel Remaster version of the game, making it one of the highest-health “normal” enemies you can encounter (outside of bosses). It has a very high attack stat, meaning its attacks can hit your party hard if you’re not careful.
The Warmech hashigh magic defense but much lower physical defense, so normal attacks are definitely the way to go.
At the start of the fight, have your castersuse Protera once or twiceto increase your party’s defense, then have any Black Magic users useTemper and Haste on your physical attackers. Then, usenormal attackswhilehealing the party as needed, and the Warmech should go down in just a few turns.
The Warmech will periodically use the attackNuke, which deals veryhigh damage to your party. Because of this attack, it’s imperative that you use Protera at least once or twice, or you may lose too much health all at once.
The Warmech should be no problem if your party isaround level 55 to 60. If you’re fighting the Warmech after already beating the final boss, this enemy should pose no problems at all. Plus, given its low encounter rate, there’s a high chance you will out-level it by fighting the random encounters before you even find the Warmech.
