While playingHonkai: Star Rail, you’re able to use the Astral Express to journey through different planets. The game starts at Herta Space Station, and you’ll have to finish the main story in this area to move forward. This Space Station contains a total of four areas apart from the express itself.
Three of these areas contain a ton of chests, and these can be seen at the top left of your screen when you’re on the map. Before you start hunting for these chests, it’s recommended to finish the entire story of Herta Space Station so that you may have access to all the rooms.
Updated on Jul 18, 2025, by Sanyam Jain:With the Version 1.6 update, the Herta Space Station received a Trailblaze Continuance where you get to meet both Ruan Mei and Dr. Ratio. This area also contains a bunch of normal and some special chests that you may get.
Base Zone Chest Locations
Base Zone is the first area in the station, and you can get up to ten chests here including a couple of Formidable Foe chests. To unlock the top right side of this area (top left in the image above),you’ll have to progress in the Road To Revival quest, which can be acquired after finishing Herta Space Station’s main story.
How To Get

This chest can beseen in theopen to the left of the roomwith Space Anchor.

Special chestlocked by a Fire Formidable Foe in the same room. It can be quite hard to defeat this enemy if you don’t have your characters built.

Climb the stairs in the middle room andyou’ll be able to enter this roomand claim the chest on the right side.

The final chest can befound past the long hallwaythat leads you out of Base Zone.
Storage Zone Chest Locations
This area has two floors that can be quite hard to navigate. To start getting quests here,it’s recommended to start at the Space Anchor on the bottom right of the bottom floor. Here are all the chests you can get as you make your way through the area:
Exit the segment of the map where you teleported andhead to the middle area. You’ll notice this chest at an edge in the open.
You’ll see a total of five circular platforms in this area. Head to the middle one andyou’ll find this chest a little to the right of the Space Anchor here.
Enter the middle office room on the other side and use the door to the back of it, oryou can teleport to the western Anchor of this floor. This section is divided into three parts, and you’ll find this chest on the top path.
It’ll be guarded by a group of small enemies,which can easily be defeated to claim the chestabove the stairs.
Enter the room at the top and this chest will be guarded by a wave of two opponents.These can be quite hard to defeat, so verify you bring your best team.
There’s a room to the left in this area whereyou’ll see a chest behind a platform puzzle. Follow these directions to solve the puzzle: Left - Left - Front - Front - Right - Back - Right - Front - Front.
Head back to the middle area where the path got divided into three and enter the middle one. This room only has one chest,but you’ll have to solve a big puzzle to acquire it. You’ll also get an access card at the end here.
Once you enter the room, go down the path on the left and defeat the enemy.Keep going until you reach a control device near a blue platform that will activate it. Follow the path and interact with another device to make a white platform.
Defeat another enemy and head up the slope tofind a control device hidden behind some crates. Go past the white platform, activate the control panel, and you’ll be able to acquire the chest.
Head back to the divided path and enter the bottom one this time. You’llfind a Warp Trotter as soon as you enter this room.
There’s a smaller room in this area where you canfind a normal chest on the rightas soon as you enter.
Go back to the Warp Trotter room andenter the path that you didn’t come into this room through. This will take you to the upper floor and you’ll see a smaller platform branching to the left. This chest will be on this platform.
For this, you can either keep going on the path orteleport to the Anchor on the right side of the upper floor. Enter the room to the right of the Anchor room on the map and you’ll find the chest.

Head back to the Anchor room andenter the middle area to find this cheston your left.

You’ll see this chest in the open near chest number 11, butyou’ll have to go through another platform puzzle to get it.

Enter the room to the right of this platform puzzle chest andyou’ll find the chest in the deep end.

This is the second chest that’ll befound in the middle circular platform, except it’ll be on the opposite side as the one on the lower floor.

Keep going past the circular platform and thischest will be on your left with a platform puzzle. Follow these instructions: Front - Left - Front - Front - Left - Front

Supply Zone Chest Locations
The final area of Herta Space Station revolves around the Astral Express station andthere are a total of ten chests in this area:
Start by teleporting to the easternmost Anchor in this area and the first chest can befound right beside this teleporter.
Enter the office through the path on top of this Space Anchor and you’llfind this chest hidden in the cabin to the top right of this room.
Head outside the office from the other path and enter the first room on your left.This Warp Trotter will be on the left as soon as you enter.
Keep going forward in this room tosee this chest with a platform puzzle. Follow these instructions: Front - Left - Back - Left - Front - Front - Left - Back - Left - Front - Front.
Head back outside the Warp Trotter room and turn left. Move forward andyou’ll see this chest on a small area to the left.
This chest will be guarded by a Formidable Foe at the end of this platform.
There’ll be a path leading down from the Space Anchor in this area. Enter the big room here andyou’ll find this chest at the end on your right.
Keep going on this path and you’ll see a door to your right. Enter here and go to the left roominside to find this chest on your left as soon as you enter.
This chest can be seen at the bottom in the middle of the main room, butyou won’t be able to get to it until you get the Out Of Reach quest. This can be unlocked after leveling up and finishing some Companion Missions.
Get to the right side of this room and you’ll see this chest near the main entry.
Seclusion Zone Chest Locations
The Seclusion Zone is divided into three different floors, butyou can find all the chests in the two main floors:
This chest can be found on thetop-most floor of the Seclusion Zone. Simply teleport to the middle waypoint and head up north on the map, you’ll find the chest behind a screen.
You’ll find an elevator on both the left and right side of the topmost floor, but only the one on the left will take you to the middle floor. This elevatoralso contains a chest just before you step on it.
Take the elevator down from the second chest and this one can befound right in front once the gates openagain.
Take the southern path on the map once you claim the third chest and you’ll eventually reach an open area. Keep goingthrough this area until you find a second set of stairs, and the chest will be near it.
After claiming chest number four, go down half the stairs and you’ll see a door to your right. Enter the door and thechest will be at the end of the room.
Once you take the fifth chest, use the door right beside it to directly get to the other open area on the same floor. Youmight have to defeat a True Sting enemy hereif you started the Critter event.
On the other side, this chest can be seen beingguarded by even more True Sting bugs.
Head down the stairs to the south of chest number six and you’ll find this chesttucked in the upper right corner of this room.
After the seventh chest, you’ll be able to see asmall side area on the mapbeside the Space Anchor here. Enter this area to find this chest.
If you went to the small room for chest eight from beside the Space Anchor, head out through the other doorway andyou’ll find the Warp Trotter of the area outside.
For this chest, you’ll first have tostart the second part of the Mundane TroublesTrailblaze Continuance mission. This will open up the doors and let you receive the chest inside.
Keep going to the left side of this area until you have to go up a set of stairs. Climb the stairs andyou’ll find this chest tucked near Herta.
Head back down half the stairs and you’ll see a doorway nearby. Enter the door, go through the glass panel, andyou’ll find the chest on the left side inside.
The final chest can be seen as the puzzle icon on the map when you have the middle floor highlighted. Head to the puzzle and move in these directions to finish it:Right - Up - Up - Left - Down - Left - Down - Left - Up - Up - Right.
