How To Farm Iron Chunks
you may get Iron fromsalvaging gear, gathering it fromOre Veins, or directly fromOre Cachesfrom quest rewards orchestsfound throughout Sanctuary. The best two methods for obtaining Iron are to salvage gear or gather it from Ore Veins. We’ll take a more detailed look at each of these methods below.
Gather Ore Veins
Ore VeinsandGlittering Ore Veinsare your best bet for gathering lots of Iron Chunks. These mining nodes arefound all across the map, so even just wandering around you’ll quickly find some to gather. Iron Ore is much more common than Silver Ore, but you’ll be able to stock up on both by gathering from Glittering Ore Veins.
Salvage Gear
Salvaging your unwanted gearis a great way to gather up tons of Iron Chunks.Metal-based itemslike most weapons or heavy plate armor will usually salvage into one to three Iron Chunks, so be sure topick up everything you see and return to the Blacksmith frequentlyif you’re low on Iron.
Keep in mind thatnon-metal itemslike leather boots, coats, or similar will salvage intoRawhide leather. If you don’t need this material, it may be worth setting these aside and selling them directly to a merchant for gold instead.
