While playingExoprimal, you probably first thought that the standard T. Rex you fight in the Dino Survival mode was a boss of sorts. And you weren’t wrong! That’s a tough fight that can absolutely eat time, which is always a problem while racing the other team. However, the Neo T. Rex fight is unquestionably on a whole other level.

For starters, this isn’t a fight you’ll face alongside your team; the Neo T. Rex is a little too much for one team, so you’ll be fighting this giant monstrosity alongside the other team as well. The Neo T. Rex also comes equipped with a tremendous amount of giant, arena clearing attacks. Thankfully, they can all be countered, and we’ll show you how below.

Dealing Damage To The Neo T. Rex

The Neo T. Rex is covered in glowing pustules. These are going to be what you will want to actively target when possible.Hitting a pustule will quadruple your damage output.Once you destroy every pustule on the Neo T. Rex’s body, you will have an opportunity to strike the fleshy lump that is inside the Neo T. Rex’s mouth.Hitting this lump of flesh will dealeven more damagethan the other pustules lining its back.

If you want to score big at the end of the round, you need to aim for those pustules at all times.Don’t just shoot at the Neo T. Rex randomly. While we think Murasame is a pretty strong choice for this encounter, thisisa strike against this Exosuit, as it is a little harder for Murasame to get at those.

Neo T. Rex’s Standard Attacks

The Neo T. Rex has a number of unique attacks. Its most basic attack will see it attempt to take a bite out of you, which is one of the few moves it shares with the regular T. Rex.It also has a tail whip attack. While doing this, the Neo T. Rex will spin 360 degrees hitting any Exosuits surrounding. This attack hasincrediblerange, so it is hard to escape. The best way to get around it is to jump over the tail. Youcanbe far enough away that it will whiff, but considering the incredible range, it is best to not bank on this. Especially if the Neo T. Rex is in the center of the arena.

The Neo T. Rex has the ability to shoot a concentrated beam of fire from its mouth. This is devastatingly powerfuland will plow through any shield you attempt to erect. If you are in front of the Neo T. Rex when it uses this attack, you will need to jump over the flames. The best way to approach this attack is to get behind the Neo T. Rex and attack its rear end.

Another attack the Neo T. Rex has will have it shake vigorously, causing puddles of purple goo to fly all over the place.Barriers will stop this gloop in its tracks, so Krieger’s Shield Dome is great for defending against this.Otherwise, just make sure that when it is done shaking you aren’t particularly close to any of these puddles. As they will all erupt into a series of explosions soon after the shaking stops.

Neo T. Rex’s Super Attacks

The Neo T. Rex has three attacks that will hit the entire arena. We are giving these attacks their own section, as we feel like these are the attacks that you are more than likely most in need of strategies for.to avoid these three attacks you will either need to take refuge behind columns, or on top of columns.

To know which approach to take, keep an eye on the Neo T. Rex itself. If it starts to vomit flames onto the ground, you need to get on top of a column before the stomach fluid touches you.As this is happening, you will need to hop from column to column.

On the other hand,if you see the columns begin to rise, and the Neo T. Rex is posturing while glowing purple, it’s about to let out a giant roar. You need to be behind one of those pillars when it does. This attack is super damaging, so if you misread it, and get on top of the column thinking it is the vomit attack, you will get hitveryhard. If you are unsure, stay behind the column, as the vomit attack will cause less damage.

Lastly, if sections of the floor begin to rise about chest-high off of the ground, get behind them, as the Neo T. Rex is going to create a black hole that will suck you in and deal massive damage. However, there is a way to interrupt this attack. While the Neo T. Rex is sucking people into the black hole, that fleshy bit in their mouth will be exposed. If you deal enough damage to that weak spot, you will stop this attack from following through.

In short…

Are tall pillars rising out of the ground and Neo T. Rex is vomiting?Get on top of the pillar.

Are raised platforms rising out of the ground?Get behind the platform to avoid being sucked into the black hole and aim for the weak spot in its mouth to save your teammates.

Skywaveis a great choice for this battle primarily because they are able to fly above and trivialize most of the Neo T. Rex’s attacks while providing consistent support. Moreover, healing is great for racking up points and there are going to be plenty of injured Exosuits.

Krieger’s Shield Dome does a fantastic job shutting down the Neo T. Rex’s slime attack, and the ability to hover makes it relatively easy for Krieger to avoid the giant monster’s tail attack and beam attack. That hovering ability makes it easy to travel from pillar to pillar during the flame vomit attack.

Vigilant is able to target the pustules easily, and hits extremely hard, so this suit is great here.Especially since Vigilant can attack from super far away. So, it is easy to attack weak spots while being out of range of most of the Neo T. Rex’s attacks. The Vigilant’s ability to leap upward also helps the Exosuit avoid a number of attacks.

Witchdoctoris also an incredible choice as, yes, their standard attack is capable of paralyzing the Neo T. Rex!The Witchdoctor also has the ability to create distance very quickly, and this suit can hover while high up. Also, as we said with Skywave, healing is extremely necessary for this fight and can help you rack up some big points.

Murasameis also a strong choice for this fight, especially since its counterattackis able to deal massive damage to a number of pustules simultaneously.Wait for the tailspin attack, as that is the perfect chance to counter.DON’T TRY TO COUNTER THE BEAM ATTACK!!!That will lead to Murasame getting blown up!
