The developers make sure to keep the game interesting for active players by constantly adding hidden quests and special items.

You may have heard talking of a golden potato within the Disney Dreamlight Valley community, or maybe you have stumbled upon it yourself. The question is, what do you do with the golden potato? There is no guidance as to what to do with it in-game, after all.
How To Find The Golden Potato
TheMysterious Golden Potatois located inScrooge’s shopif you have not activated the limited-time code. To find it, you must head to the back of the store and behind the counter. You will start to hear a sparkling noise as if an item is nearby.The Golden Potato can be looted from Scrooge’s safe.
The potato was originally released into the game by entering aspecial codethat you could only find hidden in a promotion image posted by the developers.
There will be no visual indication that something is there; you just have tointeract with the safeas if you were picking something up.
Transfigure The Potato
Now comes the confusing parts of this journey. The game doesn’t actually tell you what you have to do with the potato or what its purpose is. That is for us gamers to find out.
The first clue you are meant to find is in Merlin’s house.Inside Merlin’s house, you can find a book on his desk. If you look closely enough, you will see a picture of a potato on one page and some numbers on the other.You don’t need to visit this book in order to continuethis quest, but it is a neat detail.
With the Mysterious Golden Potato, you want tohead down to the mystical cave in Dazzle Beach. This will be the cave that you originally entered when completing your very first quests with Merlin.
On the second floor of the cave, there will be a strange, diamond-like shape on a table to your left. You mustplace the potato on the tablehere. Once you do, the potato will be exchanged for aGolden Carrot.
Great, now what do you do with the carrot?

Transfigure The Carrot
You must now transfigure the Golden Carrot by finding the same diamond stone somewhere else. Thenext location is in Elsa’s homeor ice cave.Head to Elsa’s home in the Forest of Valorandplace the Golden Carrot on the grey slabon her table.
The Golden Carrot will exchange for aGolden Crab. And so we continue.
Once you know where to transfigure each item thanks to this article, this secret questline is quite simple.
All you have to do isbring each golden item to the next transfiguration slabuntil you get your final result.
Transfigure The Crab
This will be the second last slab you need to find. You mustbring the Golden Crab into the Dream Castle, the large castle that you use to enter different Disney realms.
The Dream Castle can be quite a maze since there are tons of floors and hidden corners. Thetransfiguration stone slab you are looking for is on the very top floorof the castle. It can be hard to spot, but the slab will besitting on the railing that is adjacent to the Mickey Mouse fountain.
By placing the Golden Crab on it, you will be exchanged aGolden Thorn.

Transfigure The Thorn
Finally, you mustbring the Golden Thorn to Merlin’s houseonce more. Right where you found that mysterious book of his with the image of the Mysterious Golden Potato is where you will find the last transfiguration stone.
Place the Golden Thorn onto the slab on Merlin’s desk. This will grant you theGleaming Gold Potion. The purpose of exchanging all these items was to get this potion.
The Gleaming Gold Potion
What do you do with this potion? Definitely don’t attempt to use it. Right now,the Gleaming Gold Potion cannot be consumed.This quest is part of a much larger secret.You need the Gleaming Gold Potion for the remainder of this hidden quest.
The purpose of this quest is to create a Rainbow Potion. To do this, you’ll need to find five other colored potatoes with their own quests attached. The Golden Potato led you to the Gleaming Gold Potion, but the Purple Potato will lead you to the Royal Purple Potion, and so on.
Once you have all six potions, you will be able to craft the Rainbow Potion.
The Rainbow Potion is the potion you will be able to consume. When you do so, you’ll unlock a secret new companion!
