The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomdoesn’t bring back one of the franchise’s most iconic characters, but it does contain an homage to them. While the floating fairy fan Tingle hasn’t appeared in a Zelda game since The Minish Cap in 2004, players can celebrate the bizarreBalloonboy with a special hidden outfit.

There are many fantastic armor sets in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom but one of the trickiest to get hold of is the Tingle outfit. Yes, Link can dress up as the iconic Tingle in the latest Zelda, but only if players complete a quest, solve three riddles, and track down each hidden piece.
How To Start The Quest For The Tingle Armor Set
To get the Tears of the Kingdom Tingle armor quest, you’ll first have to complete theMisko’s Cave of Chestsquest. To get this, head to Cephla Lake in Eldin Canyon, which is located between Death Mountain and Zora’s Domain. It’s just north of theKisinona Shrine. By the cave’s entrance are two brothers arguing about treasure.
Cephla Lake Cavefeatures many treasure chests that mostly just hold one rupee, but the brothers say one chest is important. They hint towards using the nearby dog to sniff it out. Do this by giving the dog several chunks ofRaw Meat(or any other food item), and it will head into the cave and to the right one. Alternatively, Link can simply pull up all the chests from the ground until the one containing theEmber Trousersappears.
The brothers will give you theMisko’s Treasure: The Fierce Deityside quest, but that isn’t for the Tingle armor.Talk to them again, and they will mention three riddles: the Twins, the Pirate Cavern, and the Heroine Statues. They will tell the player these for 100 rupees each, adding three more ‘Misko’s Treasure’ side quests but with no obvious location.
Misko’s Treasure: Twins Manuscript Riddle Answer And Tingle’s Shirt Location
‘In West Necluda stand twins poised to duel. Each contains a cavern that faces the other. Show the little twin’s sign to the big twin to open the door to my treasure.’
The twins of Necluda are theDueling Peaks mountains. On the western edge, approximately halfway up the peaks, are two caves facing each other.Dueling Peaks North Caveis slightly lower. It contains some Horriblins and a triangle sign with four white points. Make note of these points, then head to the higherDueling Peaks South Cave.
After the Like Like, there is a sealed door and a triangle surrounded by stones.Place the rocks in the correct spots on the triangle to match the points on the mural in the North Cave. The door will open to reveal a chest containing Tingle’s Shirt.
Misko’s Treasure: Pirate Manuscript Riddle Answer And Tingle’s Tights Location
‘A forgotten pirate cavern lurks at the foot of Cape Cales, overlooking the Necluda Sea. The short, shrill song of wind through lips will open the way to my treasure.’
Cape Cales is southeast of Hyrule, justeast of Lurelin Village. The easiest way to get there is toglide over from the Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower. Head to the very edge of Mount Dunsel, overlooking the sea (there’s a Korok here). Jump off and glide slightly north, looking for a cave along the water line.
Cape Cales Cliffside Cave features a wooden board next to a stone door blocking the path.Climb on the board and whistle, as the riddle suggests. The door will open to reveal a large cave with a pirate ship. Head to the ship and defeat the enemies. There is achest hidden behind some boxeswith Tingle’s Tights. Hopefully, they’ve been dry-cleaned.
Misko’s Treasure: Heroine Manuscript Riddle Answer And Tingle’s Hood Location
‘Statues of the eight heroines reside in the desert. Enter the valley carved into Hemaar’s Descent, and shine the light of day upon the towering eighth. The path to the treasure will open before you.’
The final Tingle’s armor piece is found in theGerudo Highlandsto the southwest. There’s a canyon byHemaar’s Descentthat leads to a giant statue built into the mountain. This is theStatue of the Eighth Heroine. Otutsum Shrine is just above and south of it. The easiest way to get to it is bygliding northeast from Gerudo Highlands Skyview Tower.
Along the edges of the canyon, above and to the left and right of the statue, are multiple Zonai mirrors. As the riddle suggests,use Ultrahand to position a mirror so it shines sunlight on the statue’s green gem. This will open the door in the statue.
Head inside. There are multiple Gibdo enemies in the Statue of the Eighth Heroine Cave. Usefire or electricityto make short work of them, then head to the tent in the back and use the nearby Zonai Fan toblow away the sand.
Open the revealed chest to get Tingle’s Hood and complete the Tears of the Kingdom Tingle outfit!
Tingle’s Armor can’t be upgraded by Great Fairies but givesfaster movement at night. Plus, doesn’t Link look adorable now?
