Just like in the first game of the duology,Tears of the Kingdomintroduces you to Link’s new roster of powers gradually throughout an extended tutorial before giving you free access to the open world. The first of these mysterious powers is Ultrahand, which is granted to you when you enter Ukouh Shrine.

Tears of the Kingdom - Ukouh Shrine - Link gains the Ultrahand ability

Ultrahand allows you to move objects, much like Magnesis from Breath of the Wild - but without the stipulation that those objects be metallic. It also gives you more control over these objects, letting you rotate them and attach them to other objects.

How To Complete Ukouh Shrine: The Ability To Create

As soon as you enter this shrine, you’ll be granted your shinynew ability, and the puzzles in front of you are designed to teach you about the capabilities of this power.

The first puzzle is a simple gap. UseUltrahand(by opening the radial power menu with the L button) andGrab the metal board to the right. Take the time to get used to the controls for moving and rotating - you’ll be using these constantly during your time with the game.

Use the metal board tobridge the gapand cross over to the other side.

The second obstacle is awider gap. To cross this, you’ll need toattach two boards together. Pick up one of the nearby boards and bring it close to the other one. A translucent webbing will appear to connect the two objects - this means you may press the A button and get the objects to attach.

Make a long board bycombining the boards lengthways. Use this as your bridge.

You can detach combined objects by grabbing them with Ultrahand andshaking the right analogue stick quickly.

Cross over to the other sideto reach the third puzzle, which teaches you about creating totally new objects to solve puzzles.

In the corner of the shrine is atall platform with a cheston top of it. You can reach this using the longer board you used to cross the second gap. It contains a piece ofAmber.

Grab thenearby hookon the ground with Ultrahand and rotate it so that the hook is pointing toward the ceiling.Attach it to the middle of the wooden board. You’ve created a platform that you’ll be able to use to ride down the metal rail ahead of you.

Use Ultrahand to pick up the entire platform, hook included -place the hook on top of the railand get ready tojump on top of the platformas it travels down the rail. When you reach the other end, you’ll be at the shrine’s exit - interact with the Zonai Pedestal to get your reward, aBlessing of Light.
