Inferno -Use water or Chem Bomb to take out their fire, then take them down with bleed weapons. verify to avoid their area of effect attacks, they can ignite nearby pools of fuel or even explode barrels. Jump at the right time to completely negate their ground slam attacks and then go for the kill.

5Brusters - Go Boom

Use a ranged weapon, weapon throw, or curveball to make them explode. They take down other zombies in the vicinity as well. Win-win for everyone. We don’t recommend using melee weapons on the Brusters, unlike the Grenadier Walker zombie they explode almost immediately.

Keep your distance and use weapons throws or a gun to hit them. One hit from a weapon or curveball is enough to make them explode. verify there are no explosive barrels near you when the Bruster goes boom because everything will explode.

4Slobbers - The Rudest

Use shock, sharp, and bleed damage to take these rude zombies down. They are slow to move so dodging their attacks isn’t that hard. All types of Slobbers have a ranged attack as well, a simple dodge is enough to avoid it.

Putrified -Putrified Slobbers hate sharp and shock damage. So an electrified katana would be great against them. They vomit caustic liquid around them so going near them could damage you. If you are thinking about ranged damage, they shoot an acid glob to get you at range. We recommend stunning them and then going for melee hits.

Or use a ranged weapon like the excellent hunting rifle equipped with caustic element mod and target their legs.

1Mutators - Not The X-Men

Mutators are resistant to projectile and explosive damage. That doesn’t mean you may’t use ranged weapons against them. In fact, we recommend using a rifle and targeting their legs. Make sure you avoid their spike projectiles as they cause bleed damage. Wait for their attack and then make them pay.

Mutators are supposed to be the big baddie of Dead Island 2. They can be tricky to take down if you are only using melee weapons. Thankfully, the ranged weapons are a lifesaver when facing a Mutator. Your first goal should be to take them down before they transform. Without their “mutation,” they are just regular zombies of the Walker variety.
