Street Fighter 6finally found an answer to the age-old question, ‘how do you make T. Hawk not suck?’ The answer, of course is that you start over again. And given how incredibly charming Lily is, it is obvious that this solution is a winner. But how does Lily play?
Related:Street Fighter 6: Complete Guide To The Frame MeterWell, Lily is a hybrid grappler. She has a powerful command grab, but on top of that, she also has some potent mobility. However, while this seems like an overwhelming combination, she also comes with some pretty notable downsides. For one, some of her best moves require that you build wind stocks. Which can be hard to do when you are being pressured. Moreover, she has terrible wakeup options. But worry not, we’ll help you emphasize those strengths and minimize those weaknesses.

Condor Wind
⬇️↙️⬅️ + P
A primary component of Lily’s game plan involves getting those wind stocks. Lily’s Condor Wind is your sole means of doing this. The medium and heavy versions come with a pretty swift, long-range strike. Well, “swift” doesn’t tell the whole story. The startup here is pretty slow, but you hold the button down to build a stock, and the moment you release, the strike element will come out. This strike is great at controlling the space in front of you, but they are iffyanti-air, and they are also extremely vulnerable to Drive Impacts.
The light version, on the other hand, will help build the stock, but it doesn’t come with the strike. You will want to use this more often than not, as it will allow you to recover before getting nailed with a Drive Impact. That being said, it is good to mix in the medium and heavy so that you can keep your opponent guessing.
Some of your normals will combo into the Condor Wind. This is your safest way of building up those stocks. And by “some”, we mean yourHorn Breaker(⬅️ + HP) and the first hit of your Desert Storm (➡️ + HP) chain combo. You’ll want to stick to the Horn Breaker, as it issafe.
Condor Spire
⬇️↘️➡️ + K
The Condor Spire is, quite simply put, the foundation of Lily’s moveset. Outside of the Condor Spire, Lily has almost no ability to approach her opponents. The Condor Spire is Lily’s dash. It is also the root of her offense. Spaced correctly, this attack issafe. In that way, it is a lot like Cammy’s Canon Drill. However, if you add a stock of wind, spacing is no longer important. Not only that, but with a stock of wind the OD version is capable of blowing through projectiles. Which is huge.
Since the wind powered version of this move is so safe (you actually have frame advantage on block), you can place your opponent into some pretty tricky situations. Especially given that Lily has a command grab.Heck, you can also use the dash to come up short intentionally and land a sneaky command grab.
However, it isn’t all roses. This move is absolutely Drive Impact bait. So, if you become too predictable, you are destined to eat one for your troubles. So, you’ll need to play with distances, and keep your opponent guessing.
At the beginning of the round, a tiny step forward will put you in the perfect range for a light Condor Spire, and a tiny step backward will give you the perfect range for the medium Condor Spire.
Tomahawk Buster
➡️⬇️↘️ + P
This is Lily’santi-airspecial, and it is veryokay. It does work as an anti-air, but the angle makes it so thatit will whiff on opponents who are above her. The dead zone on this special ismassive. The Tomahawk Buster also has no invulnerability. If you try to use this as areversalon wakeup, you will absolutely eat ameatyfor your trouble.
There is one thing worth mentioning here, though. You can combo from herOD Tomahawk Busterdirectly into herOD CondorDive(PP). While that is a whole ton of meter to spend, this does a considerable amount of damage, so it is brilliant for closing out rounds.
Condor Dive
PP
Lily’s Condor Dive is a little like adive kickThe closest comparison would be Juri’s as they both travel quite far horizontally. However, unlike a dive kick, there is no spacing that will make this Condor Divesafe. It is really only for hard reads, because it is a very high-commitment move. That being said,it is a tool that can be used to get around fireballs. The OD version is extremely quick and will be invaluable when fighting plasma chuckers.
Mexican Typhoon
➡️↘️⬇️↙️⬅️↖️⬆️↗️ + P
TheCondorSpire(⬇️↘️➡️ + K) is a huge part of Lily’s mobility, but the Mexican Typhoon is how she makes her opponents fear her. This is a deadly command grab. It isn’t as fast as Zangief’s SPD, but it is more than quick enough to catch fools gawking. The best way to land this attack is to hit your opponent with a jumping light kicktick throw, land it after aCondor Spire, or use it after tagging your foe with a Drive Impact. Otherwise, if your opponent is getting a little cavalier, and is up close, this is a wonderful move to help remind them that Lily is, in fact, a grappler.
Cr. LP, Cr. LP, Cr. LP,Light Tomahawk Buster(➡️⬇️↘️ + LP)
Lily’s jab is slow, but it is also far-reaching, which makes it great for punishing faster attacks. Inevitably, you will end up using this attack quite a bit, so having a combo you can land off of it isveryuseful. This combo is fairly easy to pull off, and the Light Tomahawk Buster leaves your rival close to you, meaning that it has pretty solidoki. You can swap out the Tomahawk Buster for Lily’sBreezing Hawk Super(⬇️↘️➡️⬇️↘️➡️ + K) if you have the meter.
Horn Breaker(⬅️ + HP),Heavy Condor Wind(⬇️↙️⬅️ + HP)
It may only be two hits, but they take about a fifth of your enemy’s health. This is a fantastic combo to use inneutral. You will want to hit with the very tip of Lily’s club, which will leave the Condor Wind reasonablysafeon block. However, this combo can be blown up by a Drive Impact, so, if you see that your foe is starting to look for that Drive Impact, you will want to start replacing the Condor Wind with a Drive Impact of your own.
Cr. HP,OD Tomahawk Buster(➡️⬇️↘️ + PP),OD Condor Dive(PPP)
This combo will eat two thirds of your meter, but it does a considerable amount of damage, so it is often worth it. Especially if you have your opponent on the ropes. you’re able to perform this off of theHorn Breaker(⬅️ + HP) as well, but the crouching heavy punch will give you more time to register if the attack was blocked or not.
Lily’s Game Plan
As we already said in the move breakdown, your key to success here is going to be theCondorSpire(⬇️↘️➡️ + K). This is how you are going to get in on your opponents. You’ll need to get a good feel for the attack’s spacing so thatyou can get a feel for the distance where you willjust barelyconnect with it. If you are an inch away from it whiffing, then all your CondorSpires are very safe. However, they are decidedly unsafe it performed too close. Unless, that is, you have a stock of wind.Ideally, you will always want to be fully stocked on those wind charges. The best way to do that is by comboing it off her heavy punch normals. Which brings us to Lily’sneutralgame…
Lily’s medium punch attacks are allverynice and rangey. They make forgreatpokes, but that is all they will ever be.They can’t cancel into any of her specials. So, when playing footsies, you are going to want to use herHorn Breaker(⬅️ + HP) and crouching heavy punch. Throw those medium punches in here and there to annoy your opponent of course, but your goal is to land a heavy. If you hit with either heavy punch, you may cancel into yourHeavy Condor Wind(⬇️↙️⬅️ + HP) which will give you a stock of wind AND knock your rival down to the ground. Unfortunately, while Lily has some very solid normals, her walk speed is just flat-out terrible. Worse yet is her dash. So when you want to close space, you are going to rely on that Condor Spire (⬇️↘️➡️ + K).
Now, if you are getting zoned out by projectile throwers, Lily has a few options, but they aren’t ready-made solutions. Her very best option is to use the OD version of herCondor Spire (⬇️↘️➡️ + KK). This will blow through a projectile and has excellent range. That being said, that means trying to get a wind stock while having a projectile thrown at you, which isn’t ideal.
Then there is herCondor Dive(PP) which will let you dive at your opponent from the air as they throw the fireball, but you need to be performing this move pretty much the second they start throwing the fireball, which means that this is, basically, a guess. TheOD CondorDrive(PPP) is faster, but you will still need to be sharp with your reactions. One thing you may do is perform a Condor Dive earlier (when you are closer to the ground) to hop over the fireball and get closer to your opponent.
Once you have gotten close, and you have stocks of wind, then you can get into the fun stuff. Start Condor Spiring in on your opponent. If they block it, follow up with jabs, then combo the third jab back into another Condor Spire. You can loop this to apply pretty oppressive block pressure. You will now want to start mixing in theMexican Typhoon(➡️↘️⬇️↙️⬅️↖️⬆️↗️ + P). You can also land the Mexican Typhoon with her light kickcross-up. This makes for a pretty nastytick throwsetup.
Once they start jumping to evade throws, hit them out of the air with anOD Tomahawk Buster(➡️⬇️↘️ + PP), and tack on an OD Condor Dive (PPP). You can also start looking to land a crouching medium kick and then combo that into herCondorSpire(⬇️↘️➡️ + K). This is when the panic sets in, as blocking will get them thrown, jumping will get them blown up with the heavy-hitting Tomahawk Buster, and when they attempt to back away, they are getting clipped by low attacks. When Lily is played like this, she can seem extremely oppressive.
While Lily can be terrifying once she gets going, it is worth noting that she has awful defensive options. So, make sure to use the Drive Impact to help cover some of her weaknesses in this regard. But do it thoughtfully. Random Drive Impacts aren’t a great solution. Pick your shots! When all else fails, block.
