Meowscarada ex is a top-tier deck that can also spread its damage onto the whole opponent’s bench. It’s consistent, easy to understand, and pretty fun to use. It battles alongside the VMAX and VSTAR decks, a threat everyone must be aware of in this Scarlet and Violet meta. Let’s check it out.

Meowscarada Ex Deck Key Cards
Let’s check at the core of this deck, as it has a lot of interesting cards:
Meowscarada ex
Undoubtedly, Meowscarada ex is the protagonist of this deck. First, it has an ability namedBouquet Magic, which lets youput three damage counters on any of your opponent’s benched Pokemon, but to use it, you’ll have to discard a Grass Energy card from your hand.
This works well alongside Meowscarada’s attack,Scratching Nails, which deals 100 damage, but if the target already has any damage counters on it,the attack will deal an extra 120 damage, rounding up to 220, which is more than enough to take some of the exes of the meta.
Rare Candy
If you check the Decklist, you’ll noticethat the deck lacks enough Floragato cards.This is because this deck usesRare Candycards.
The Rare Candylets you skip an evolving stage, making you able to evolve Sprigatito to Meowscarada in a single turn. It’s such a great item to have, and it lets you boost yourself to attack in turn two.
Radiant Alakazam
Radiant Alakazam and Meowscarada ex are a match made in heaven; both work together like a charm.
Radiant Alakazamhas an ability namedPainful Spoon, whichlets you move the damage countersofyour opponent’s benched Pokemon.
This is useful because the idea is to spread the damage counters Meowscarada set to allow it todeal extra damage to all the Pokemon in your opponent’s bench.
Medicham V
The last member of the select group of damage spreaders isMedicham V, which has an attack namedYoga Loop. With it, you can put two damage counters on one of your opponent’s Pokemon. If you get that Pokemon Knocked Out with Yoga Loop,you can have an extra turn.
During this extra turn you get, you can’t use Yoga Loop again.
Bibarel & Colress Experiment
Bibarel will help you out withcard drawing; otherwise, this deck lacks a good drawing system.
Bibarelhas an ability namedIndustrious Incisors, which willlet you draw cards until you have five in your hand.It’s a cool ability to use in every turn, as you won’t have many cards in your hand when playing this deck.
Colress Experimentis also a great option, as it lets youcheck the first five cardsof your deck, only todraw threeand send the other two to the Lost Zone.
This Deck doesn’t use Lost Zone, so don’t worry about that, Colress Experiment is just a tool to draw cards.
Lumineon V
Lumineonis a great asset for the late game if you are losing due to its ability,Luminous Sign.If you play it from your hand to the bench,you can search for a Supporter card in your deck.It’s great to draw a Boss’s Orders or an Iono.
Artazon
Artazonis a Stadium introduced in Paldea Evolved and combines well with those decks that use a lot of Basic Pokemon. With it, once per turn, both playerscan search for a Basic Pokemon that doesn’t have a Rule Boxand put it into their hands.
The Pokemon V and ex have Rule Boxes; therefore, you can’t draw them with this card.
It’s a great card to use in case you don’t find a Sprigatito, or you want to find a Bidoof to put it into action. Manaphy can also be drawn with this card as well.
Iono
Ionois a great card to use when you are behind in the match. Upon using it, both players have to put their hands in the bottom of the deck, thendraw as many cards as the cards left in their Prize Cards.
With this card, you canmess up with those decks that have long hands, and it also lets you draw cards from the beginning without using other cards like Professor Research, etc.
Double Turbo Energy
TheDouble Turbo Energyis very important, as with it, you may attack with Meowscarada or with Medichamon turn one.
As you attach it to your Pokemon,it’ll receive two Energies instead of one.The only drawback is that the Pokemon with this card attached to will deal20 less damage.
Superior Energy Retrieval
TheSuperior Energy Retrievalis an item that it’s getting a reprint in Paldea Evolved, so it comes back to the meta. With it, you have to discard two cards. If you do,draw up to four Energy cards from your Discard Pile.It’s a great card that will let yourecyclethose Energy cards you’ll be discarding with Meowscarada’s Bouquet Magic.
Meowscarada Ex Deck Strategy
As this deck has to evolve Sprigatito to Meowscarada,it’s ideal to start first.You have several tools to draw Pokemon since the beginning; Colress Experiment, Level Ball, Ultra Ball, Nest Ball, and Artazon.attempt to look for a Sprigatito and a Meowscarada.If you can, also try to look forRadiant Alakazam.
Search forManaphyif you have a mirror match or a match where the opposing deck hits Benched Pokemon, and search forDrapionif you are against a Mew VMAX deck.
To keep the card flow going, try to get Bidoof and evolve it to Bibarel touse its ability.
So, ideally, you should haveMeowscarada in the Active Spot, a second Meowscarada(if possible),Radiant Alakazam, and Bibarel.The rest is optionaland will mostly depend on what you want to do from now on and the deck your opponent is playing.
To attack, attach aDouble Turbo Energyto Meowscarada, and try to have a Grass Energy card in your hand. First, useBouquet Magicand start spreading some damage on your opponent’s bench.
Then,spread it outwith Radiant Alakazam’sPainful Spoonto focus on hurting everyone. Lastly, you canfreely attack with Meowscarada’s Scratching Nails.
Meowscarada Ex Deck Common Threats
This deck is very stable, and it almost has no drawbacks or unfair matchups, aside from anyFire-type-based DecklikeArcanine ex,which can defeat Meowscarada in a single turn.
Nonetheless,that Arcanine ex deck has serious consistency problems, so you can win the match if you have enough luck. Stick to the plan, attempt to get Medicham working for you whenever you can, and you’ll be fine.
Aside from that,Meowscarada ex doesn’t have many problems against the meta.Playing against ability-blocking cards like Klefki or Galarian Weezing is not a problem.
Meowscarada’s damage doesn’t depend on its ability, and you can stack damage the old way by attacking in different turns. Of course, you can’t use Radiant Alakazam, but as soon as you get rid of the Active Spot Pokemon, things will flow.
Meowscarada is also more than capable of handling the damage fromPalkia or Arceus VSTAR, which gives you more than enough time to defeat them. Again, the best way is by starting first in the match and building yourself properly from the beginning.
