How To Open And Run Your Shop In A Wonderful Life
Though you will have a handful of other ways to make money in A Wonderful Life, opening a shop in town is one of the most immediate ways to get your money.
In the circular space beside the Inn where Van sets up his shop on the third and eighth of the season, you’ll be able to run your own store anytime Van isn’t there.
This even includes thedays that Van will be in town, but hasn’t arrived yet- as long as you close before he gets there, you can sell in the morning.
Interact with the spaceto be given a prompt about opening your store. The game will then set up the store for you automatically.
You’re allowed tochoose up to ten items from your inventoryto stock when you first open, but beware thatitems don’t stack in your storethe way they do in your inventory, witheach item requiring one of the ten spots.
Almost anything can be soldin your shop - crops, animal products, meals, forageables, fish, dig site finds, and more.If you can sell it to Van, you can sell it in your store.
You can restock your store from your inventory by interacting with the red trunk in the top-right corner of your shop stall, if you’re looking toward the street.
Townsfolk will make comments if you’ve run out of stock, which is a great way to let you know that you have if you’ve lost track.
Once you have something up for sale, you’ll need towait for someone to walk byso that you canapproach the townsfolk as they come up to your shop.
Children don’t have money, but they will come up and ask about items regardless.
You have a small moving space through and around your shop stall, in which you’ll need towalk up to your potential customers and talk to them- they won’t ask for help, so if you don’t approach, you won’t make a sale.
If you venturetoo far outside this range, the game willask if you’d like to close up shopfor the day.Saying no resets your farmer back to the middle of the shop stall, with the same customers still waiting for help.
The customer, when spoken to, willtell youwhich of your items they want, at which point you can chooseone of three pricing options:
While you’ll naturally make the most money asking your neighbors for full price, giving a discount raises your friendship with that character, so it may be helpful to give someone a percentage off if you’reworking on your friendships.
Beware, though, that whencharging full pricefor some items, some townsfolk may decline to buyafter all.
This is most likely withtownsfolk who are somewhat pricklyin general -Namihas done this to us a couple of times, for instance.
You can choose toclose your shopanytime by eitherhitting the Back button, or bywalking out of your shopand agreeing to close when prompted.
In selling at your shop, you get the money immediately, making your store a great way to earn quick cash when Van isn’t around!
