After progressing through the main story inHonkai: Star Rail, you’ll stumble upon a ton of Adventure Missions that aren’t necessary to finish, but you’re able to get a lot of Stellar Jades and other resources from them. Some of these Adventure Missions can last for up to three real-life days, and also give you more rewards.

The Vessel of Mediocrity is one of these quests. Not only does it give you extra rewards from being a multiple-part quest, but it also lets you open chests every time you solve a puzzle. These chests give even more rewards and count toward your achievements.
How To Unlock Vessel Of Mediocrity
you’re able to find the Vessel of Mediocrity quest in theBackwater Pass area of surface Belobog when you’re on the Jarilo-VI planet. Although, the process to get to this area might be quite long. Firstly, you’ll have to finish the main story in Herta Space Station, which will require you to beat the Doomsday Beast and finish the first beta of the Simulated Universe.
After that, you can embark on the Astral Express and head to the second planet covered with ice. As you try to get through the main quest here,you’ll rest in the Goethe Grand Hotel on the surface for one night. When the night passes, you’ll get chased by Bronya into the required area and unlock it.
You’ll still have tocontinue the main quest a while longerbefore you can get the quest in the area.
It’s recommended to finish the entire story of Jarilo-VI before starting this questas the second and third parts will take you to other areas.
Once you’ve fulfilled the requirements,you’ll see a blue quest icon near the middle Space Anchor in Backwater Pass. It won’t appear in your quest menu until you start it by talking to the Mysterious Girl.
Vessel Of Mediocrity Part One Walkthrough
When you talk to the Mysterious Girl and start the quest, you’ll go through an interesting set of dialogues where you’ll learn that thegirl’s idea of getting out of the area and being free might be connected to the boxes nearby. Once the dialogue ends, you can enter the box area using the entry at the bottom part.
To save the girl in the first puzzle, you simply have to move the box on the right side upward. Thetrapped girl will be facing the box that you need to move and moving it will give you an opening. Reach the girl and interact with her to free her and solve the first box puzzle. This will give you a Bountiful Chest.
Talk to the girl and she’ll praise you for solving the puzzle and give you some more lore about her. At some point,you’ll get two dialogues with a message icon and one with an arrow pointing to the right. If you choose the message icon dialogues, she’ll give you more lore but you’ll eventually return to this choice again.
To continue the quest, you’ll have to select the option with the arrow,which will spawn another box puzzle after a bit. This one will feature two trapped girls, and here’s how you can free them:
After finishing both the box puzzles, you’ll be able totalk to the girl for the last time before talking to Sampo and asking for his help. When you come back to the spot with him, the girl won’t be there and you’ll get a note on the ground, which will give you massive lore about the quest.
Vessel Of Mediocrity Part Two Walkthrough
If the first part wasn’t creepy enough,you may start the second part of this quest when the server clock resets. The reset time can vary based on the server you’re on. There’s roughly a five-hour difference between the resets on each server. After the reset, you’ll have to head over to the Silvermane Guard Restricted Zone area.
You’ll see the blue quest icon at the bottom left side of the map.The fastest way to get to it is by teleporting to the bottom Space Anchor near Gunn. This time around, the same Mysterious Girl will be a grown-up. Talk to her to start your first puzzle.
She’ll mention Mr. Stefan and you’ll realize that this girl is none other than Cyrille. She’ll once again ask you to solve the box puzzle,but the area and the number of boxes will increase this time. Here’s everything you need to do to solve the first one:
If you’ve already made some movements before you read the steps,you can use the Restart Challenge button on the left.
Cyrille’s memory will start getting clearer after this puzzle, and another one will spawn after a few dialogues. This one will have a ton of boxes scattered everywhere and you’ll have to free three girls:
Talk to Cyrille and Dunn at the end to finish the second part of the quest.
On the next reset, you’ll get the continuation of the second part where you have to talk to Dunn.
This won’t give you too many rewards, butit’s important to finish this if you want to get the third part on the next day.
Vessel Of Mediocrity Part Three Walkthrough
The final part of Vessel of Mediocrity will take you to Everwinter Hill,near Cocolia’s Echo of War. At the location,you’ll find one of the mage boss enemies this time, but you can’t fight it right away. The quest will start getting quite emotional here if you’ve read all the lore till this point.
Here’s how you can solve the first box puzzle:
There won’t be a second puzzle this time around. You simply have to finish the series of dialogues to end the quest and get your rewards.
