Throughout your journey inThe Witcher 3,you’ll come across people in need. While most of these people genuinely need help and have a reward prepared for their savior, others have nefarious intentions in mind. The unmarked quest, Woe is Me, will present Geralt with a wounded man laying next to a road and begging for help in Ard Skellig.

It quickly becomes apparent that the wounded man isn’t injured at all when he tries to mug Geralt with the help of his friends lying in wait. While this twist would be an unpleasant surprise, missing this quest is incredibly easy.

How To Start Woe Is Me

This encounter is on Skellige’s main island, Ard Skellig, in the center of the region. The wounded man is waiting by thePalisade Fast Travel point,leaning against a wooden stake. It issouth of Blandare,where you’re able to start a short bounty-hunting quest,The Sad Tale Of The Grossbart Brothers.

You need toapproach the man from the southto trigger this encounter. Trying to reach him from the north will have Geraltinadvertently discovering the ambushers,making them attack him andmaking it impossible to start this encounter.

Considering that you’ll almost certainly becoming from the north,you may have already sprung the trap. If you are truly determined to find this man, you should head downArd Skellig’s west coast,reaching the town ofFayrlundand travelingsoutheast to Fyresdalwhere you can head north to Palisade.

It’s a lot of work just to fight three men, but if you’re reading this guide you’re probably determined enough to go through the effort.

Springing The Trap

Now that the hard part is over, you just have to defend yourself fromthree bandits.The first, the wounded man, willjump to his feet once he sees Geralt and immediately start attacking.If you’re fast, you can kill him before his allies arrive.

Once he’s been killed, you canfocus on the two men hiding behind the palisades.When all your would-be assailants have been killed, the quest will end.
