What Do Karmic Dice Do?
You may have seen the feature in the options menu -Karmic Dice are supposed to make the game feel fairerby avoiding streaks of bad luck and failures.
Karmic Dice purports to keep the game feeling random, and while there were reports of Karmic Dice raising the damage you take from enemies (seeming to also helpenemiesavoid failures),Larian have gone on record to say that this is a scenario that shouldn’t happen in the full release.
Despite this statement, many people feel that playing with Karmic Dice enabledleads to the game feeling more ‘rigged’ and less random, which makes the game feel less like the emulation of the tabletop experience that many feel Baldur’s Gate 3 should be.
How To Turn Karmic Dice Off
If you want the game to feel more random and avoid any developer interference in your experience of luck, the solution is exceedingly simple. Just head to theOptions menuand find theKarmic Dice featurein theGameplay tab.
Uncheck the box next to the option,and you’ll have disabled the feature.
If you want to be sure that the feature is off,save and then reload your gameafter disabling the option - this is a tried-and-true method for resetting RNG in many games.
