If you’reusing the PlayStationwhen it’s time to turn it off, you’ll need topress the PlayStation button on your DualSense controller.
This brings up amenu along the bottom of the screenthat helps you navigate through the PlayStation 5’s capabilities. Thepower optionscan be foundall the way to the right.
When you select this, you’ll seethree options:
If you need tounplug your PlayStation 5for any reason,be sure the power is fully turned off, and that the console isn’t in rest mode.
You stand topotentially corrupt the data in your system, so it’s best not to risk it!
How To Turn Off A PlayStation 5 From The Sign-In Menu
We’ve all done it before - accidentally turned our PlayStation 5 on while doing something unrelated. And if that’s the case, you don’t need to log in - you canturn off a PlayStation 5 from the startup menu, too.
To do this, on thescreen where you choose a profileto use to sign in, you’ll notice a smallpower symbol at the bottom of the screen.
Simplyscroll down and click itto access the same power settings right from the initialization screen, and save yourself the time of signing in just to power down.
Use The Power Button On The Console
Finally, if you don’t have your controller handy but need to put your console into rest mode or power it off anyway, you can alsohit the power button on the physical PlayStation 5.
If youpress the button, the console willenter rest mode.
Conversely, if youlong-press and hold the buttoninstead, the console willpower off completely.
