How To Start “The Blocked Well”

As one of the quests for the"Potential Princess Sightings!", this quest is triggered by finding Penn at one ofthe stablesaround Hyrule - specifically,Gerudo Canyon Stable.

When you arrive, you’ll find Penn speaking to the stable hand about the issue -Zelda has ordered the well to be blocked off. Because the stable has lost its only source of water and mushrooms amid the intense heat and sandstorm from the Upheaval, it’s now forced to close.

Penn, ever the brave bird, wouldgo check things out himself, but his wings are too wide - that means it’s up to Link tohop into the well and check it out.

You have a tough fight ahead, so use the stable’s cooking pot to whip up plenty ofmeals with helpful effectsbefore you venture in.

Go In Prepared To Fight

When youdrop into the wellat the stable, things seem in order. However, you’ll notice that there’s asection of breakable rocksthat seal off the rest of the well.Break themto continue investigating.

Inside, you’ll find aslew of higher-level enemies, including a Like Like and multiple variants of Lizalfos.

This fight is best handled if youfirst deal with the Lizalfos, which are moving and extremely aggressive targets, and thenhandle the Like Like second, as they’re stationary on the wall.

Once you defeat the enemies in the main chamber, work your way up toward the opening at the far end of the room, where you’ll encounter an Electric Lizalfos.

Not only does this enemy do a good amount of melee damage, it’s alsoelectrified, meaning it can and willuse electric attacks against you.

It’s best tokeep your distanceand use different fusions on your arrowheads todispatch the Electric Lizalfos from a distance.

Be careful using metal weaponry to defeat this or electrified enemy, as contact with electricity makesLink drop metal weapons and shields.

Once you’vetaken out all the enemiesin the well, Penn will call down to you. Link is broughtback to the surfacefor a brief wrap-up chat with Penn.

After this, the quest is marked as complete, and you’re given therewardfor the level of your current progression in the “Potential Princess Sightings!” side adventure.

If you didn’t have time to look around before Penn brought you back,go back down into the wellafter he leaves.

Not only can you grab all the droppedmonster parts and weaponry, but in the side-room, there areseveral types of mushroomsthat Link can take to help make someelementally-resistant meals.
