Compared to the other stories in the game, the Musician’s Story is fairly straightforward. It has only two endings, and it’s fairly easy to choose which one you want. Below, we’ll detail every choice that matters throughout the tale and which paths to choose - all without spoilers, to boot!
Loneliness Versus Acceptance
There are three main decision points that you’ll encounter during the Musician’s Story, each one choosing between a Loneliness outcome and an Acceptance outcome. Since it’s impossible to have a tie, you can get the ending that you want by favoring itin at least two of the three decision points.
The first choice appears when the Musicianfinds a dead bird in the house. After picking it up, you can eitherplace it near an open windowto the right, orput it in a cageto the left. Placing the bird near the window pushes you toward the Acceptance ending, while putting it in the cage favors Loneliness.

Re-Learning How To Write
At the end of the library sequence, the Musician attempts to write despite not being able to move most of her hand. Inspect the two empty spots on the table; aviolinwill appear on the right, while anoosewill appear on the left. Once both objects have materialized, choose one to write about. The violin and the clean sheet of paper are associated with the Acceptance ending, while the noose and the burnt paper move toward the Loneliness ending.
Destroying Echoes
Near the end of the story, you’ll find several rooms with two Echoes that can be destroyed with the flashlight. In each room, you canonly destroy one Echo. The words “Which part of me do I want to destroy?” are written on the walls.
Unlike the other two choices, you’ll want todestroy the Echo related to the ending that you don’t want. This means that if you want the Acceptance ending, you shouldalways destroy the Loneliness Echo on the left, while if you’re going for the Loneliness ending you shoulddestroy the Acceptance Echo on the right.
There are three sets of Echoes; if you destroy Echoes from different sides, whichever ending you favored in two out of the three encounters will earn the point.
