Disney Speedstorm features 18 different characters from a wide range of different films and franchises - bringing them all to the racetrack for you to battle other players locally, or online. Take to the tracks solo or in the online multiplayer modes to increase your skill level, and master each character’s unique abilities to become the best racer possible.

With so many characters available to play, you’re able to work to unlock all of them to explore everyone’s abilities, and decide which racer is your favourite. In this guide, we share the different ways in which you can unlock characters in Disney Speedstorm.

This game is currently in Early Access, so the content may change upon release.

Unlocking Characters With Packs

Upon purchasing the game in early access, you may also purchase DLC packs on top of the game itself - and these packs contain various characters for you to unlock.

There are three packs available to purchase:

Standard Founder’s Pack

This pack comesincluded in the priceof the game and marks that the player was active on Speedstorm during the early access period of the game. For theStandard editionof the pack, you will be able toinstantly unlock Donald Duck, as well as be given the opportunity to choose another racer of your choice out ofBaloo, Belle, Beast, Elizabeth Swann, Shang, and Mowgli. As well as these racers, you receive4,000 Tokensandtwo Golden Pass creditsto use in-game.

Deluxe Founder’s Pack

The Deluxe version of the pack is an additional cost and gives you access toDonald Duckand theoptional racer from the Standard pack, as well as the option for you to unlockMulan. This pack provides7,000 Tokensandtwo Golden Pass Credits.

Ultimate Founder’s Pack

For this pack, you receive the most in-game content, but it is a higher additional cost on top of buying the base game. You receiveall of the racers from the previous packs(Donald, Mulan, and the player pick) and unlockCaptain Jack SparrowandHercules. Here, you also get12,000 Tokens, andthree Golden Pass Creditsthat can be used in-game.

Unlocking Racers With Shards

If you haven’t unlocked racers by purchasing one of the Founder’s Packs, the next best way to get them is by collecting shards. Racer shards are one of the in-game currencies and can be earned to unlock all of the different racers.Each racer costs ten shards to initially unlock, but it costs more to upgrade items and unique abilities.

Golden Pass

Disney Speedstorm’s battle pass, the Golden Pass, hasracer shards availablefor you to earn on thePremiumtiers. However, it is worth noting that these racer shards will becharacter specific, depending on the franchise being featured in the pass.

There are50 tiers on the passand multiple rewards at each level for both free and premium pass paths. For example, the Mosnters Inc Golden Pass theme haseight-tier rewardsthat provide shards for Mike Wazowski and Sulley.

Universal Box

Inside the Universal Box, there isa chance that you will receive shards for any of the charactersin the game. These arenot guaranteed dropsfrom these boxes, but there is a good chance you will get shards from them.

Season Box

These boxes will align with the theme for the Golden Pass, and provide shards forracers in that franchise. You mustpurchase these withtokens or Season Box Credits.

Starter Circuit

Going througheach of the racers in the Starter Circuit is a good way to earn shards.As you progress through the races, you will earnRewards Boxesthat will containshards specific to the raceryou are playing as.

These are very easy to obtain and are given to you every few races during the chapter.

Season Tour

This mode, similar to the Starter Circuit, sees you working your way throughdifferent chapters to earn shardsfor different racers. You will earncharacter-specific shardsbased on the racer you play asin these chapters.

Ranked Multiplayer

Completingranked matchesis a good way to earncharacter-specific shards, as you will level up your racers in a more competitive environment. The shard drops differ depending on how many races you do and your performance in them.

Regulated Multiplayer

Thisability-free game modecan also provide you with shards as youlevel up the event rewards. The higher you get in these rewards, the more shards you have the chance to receive.

Purchasable From The Shop

Shards are also sometimesavailable in the shop to purchase with Seasons Coins– which can be earned by leveling up the Golden Pass. The higher the tier on the pass, the more coins you will receive, with the highest amount being80,000 at tier 48.
