There are many secrets and discoveries to be made inRemnant 2, ranging from weapons and armor to Traits and items. But, uncovering these hidden elements isn’t always obvious or simple. Among these secrets is the existence of unlockable Archetypes. Archetypes function as classes in the game, shaping your playstyle and forming the foundation for your preferred character build.

You initially get to choose only one Archetype when you start. However, as you progress, there’s a chance to unlock additional ones and even equip two of them simultaneously. Among the various Archetypes available, the Engineer stands out as a powerful choice.
How To Unlock The Engineer Archetype In Remnant 2
To unlock theEngineer Archetype, you must follow several steps before gaining access to this unique class.
Firstly, you need to begin atN’Erudand progress until you reachthe second open mapin the world. This could be eitherThe Eon VaultorThe Timeless Horizon, as the game generates locations randomly.
Regardless of which map you end up in, you will need to find the item called theAlien Device, which willalways be located in the second open zone in N’Erud.
Now, this is where things can become a bit challenging.
From your starting point, you mustcarefully navigate the map’s edges, avoidingthe deadly fogto stay safe.
As you explore the map’s edges, you’ll need to locatea separate piece of land that lies outside the actual map. This area may not immediately appearuntil you approach it closely.
After you’ve found the hidden area, you’ll need toenter the fog and be quick. The fog is deadly, and if thestatue effect meter fills up, you’ll die instantly(shown in the picture above as the purple meter).
As a result, finding the Alien Device might take a few attempts due to thefog limiting your visibility and the deadly statue effect. However, theAlien Device will be located there.
While you explore the foggy area, you have the chance to obtain theTechnician setas well.
Now that you have obtained the Alien Device, it’s time to return toWard 13 and interact with Wallace.
In the menu, you can craft theDrzyr Caliperusing the Alien Device,10 Lumenite Crystals, and1,000 Scrap.
Once you’ve successfully crafted the Drzyr Caliper, equip theEngram, and this will unlock the Engineer Archetype for you to use.
Engineer Archetype Overview
The Engineer Archetypestands out as a highly-skilled specialist, centering onHeavy Weaponryand showcasing proficiency inwielding powerful weapons or deploying them in turret mode.
Their expertise lies in dealingtons of damageandproviding support to teammatesthrough the deployment of turrets as companions.
The Engineer’s primary playstyle revolves around deploying turrets, which significantly contributes to their effectiveness in combat. What’s more, the ability toremove the weapon from the turret and wield itadds an extra layer of versatility.

Each Archetype includes a distinctPrime Perkexclusive to it anda unique Traitwith a startingSkill. Additionally, you receivetwo additional Skillsatlevel 5andlevel 10, while theTrait can be fully upgraded at level 10.

High Tech
Hold skill button: Overclock a held or deployed Heavy Weapon. Gain Infinite Ammo, increased Fire Rate, and a 25 percent damage buff for 15 seconds.
Starting skill
Heavy Weapon: Vulcan
Press skill button: Deploys a Vulcan Turret.
Hold skill button: Activates Heavy Carry Mode; can be overclocked with Engineer Prime.
Double press skill button: Reclaims the weapon, getting back 75 percent of its remaining ammo.
