You might’ve started playingDave The Diverthinking that you’ll be spending most of your time underwater, but there are quite a lot of surface activities in the game as well. Apart from the Bancho Sushi restaurant, most of these activities unlock only after you get past a certain part of the story.

You’ll be taking care of a certain type of farm in these surface activities to get a regular supply of goods like Fish, White Rice, Vegetables, and Seaweeds. All of these items can then be used to make great dishes at Bancho Sushi.

How To Unlock The Fish Farm

Fish Farm will be the first type of farm that’ll unlock in Dave The Diver, but you’ll have to get quite far in the main story for it. As you learn more about the Sea People, you’ll see two of them going deeper into the ocean. If you want to follow them, you’ll have to get a special underwater light from Duff.

When you ask him for it, he’ll ask you tolocate a yellow shipwreckandget the pink chest from it, which contains Leahs-Chan’s figurine. You’ll have to fight a giant monster for it, but you can get the flashlight at the end. This will let you venture deeper into the ocean, but it’ll also start your journey to unlock farms.

Dave The Diver Otto At Bancho Sushi

Depending on your luck, you might have to progress a little more in the main storyuntil you get all the items for the Sea People Translator.

On one of the nights after getting the flashlight, a quest called A Noisy Customer will be started. In this quest, you’ll meet Otto at the restaurant who’ll ask you for a specific dish called Moray Eel Curry. You’ll need two ingredients for this dish, and here’s how you can get them:

Dave The Diver Fish Farm

Moray Eel

After the dialogue with Otto, you’ll be able to dive once at the start of every night, though this will consume one-third of the restaurant time. Whilediving at night, you’ll be able to see Moray Eels randomly in the water.

These are the same Eels that attack you from different holes during the daytime, andthey can be caught like regular fish. Although, you’ll have to hit them a lot of times because of their high health.

Dave The Diver Vegetable Farm

Turmeric

You can either randomly get Turmeric byopening Cooking Pots when you’re under the wateror bydispatching extra staff membersto get the item. Thankfully, you only need one Turmeric for this dish.

Diving at night can be quite lethalsince every type of fish is going to be aggressive. You’ll find more Sharks around than normal as well.

Dave The Diver Seaweed Farm

verify you have the best weapon and harpoon before doing this.

After getting the required items, put Moray Eel Curry on themenu at the Sushi restaurant and Bancho will make it first as soon as it opens. Take the Curry and serve it to Otto. On the next day, he’ll ask you to come to the empty lot behind the restaurant and open the Fish Farm for you.

On this farm, you’ll see nine slots belonging to different depths. You have a chance of getting a Fish egg whenever you capture a fish, and it’ll automatically be transported to the farm as soon as you get it. If you have two or more fish of the same type in a tank, they’ll start multiplying daily.

As more fish get added to a certain tank, its density will increase, and you won’t be able to get more fish after a certain density. Make sure that you visit the farm every day and check on each tank to ensure the density isn’t too high. If you see the density having a red background, it means that you have to take out some fish.

You can do a couple of things with the fish you decide to take out:

How To Unlock Rice And Vegetable Farm

As you progress more in the main story, you’ll eventually reach the Sea People Villagewhere the king will ask you to build trust with other people in the village. You’ll have to come back the next day to start this trust-building expedition but on the same night,a VIP called Michael Bang will appear in the restaurant.

To get some inspiration,he’ll ask you to cook a dish that’ll require some ingredients. Once the VIP leaves, Otto will ask you to visit an area the next day when he’ll open the rice farm for you in a pool on the left side. There will be five crops of rice in the pool initially, but you can expand it by visiting Otto’s Shop.

Otto will automatically plant the seeds for you butyou’ll have to check the Farmnow app on your phone regularly.

If you see that the Nutrition of the Rice field is low or if there are weeds in the pool, you’ll have to visit and remove them.

Some crops can also wither randomly and you have to remove them as soon as possible. Once planted, the crops grow fully in about two days, and you’re able to get multiple White Rice from one crop. You’ll also see some patches on the right side of the farm, but they’ll unlock a little later when a VIP called Sammy visits the restaurant.

When the first patch is unlocked, you can buy seeds from Otto and plant them here. You’ll regularly have towater these patches and remove weeds for a while until you get certain upgrades. You’ll also have to progress the story further to get the other three patches unlocked.

Eventually, you’ll also unlock Chickens on the surface farmthat’ll give two eggs every day.

How To Unlock Seaweed Farm

To unlock the final farm in Dave The Diver, you’ll have to get both the rice farm and reach the Sea People village. In the village, you’ll get a quest from an NPC named Kazhin asking you to get a certain book from the temple. You’ll get a Seaweed Seed after getting him the book and you’ll have to talk to the farmer in the village.

Gumo, the farmer, will ask you to make a special dish with Seaweed if you want him to open the farm. This will require you to get Purple Sea Urchin, Rice, and Seaweed. Deliver the dish back to Gumo and he’ll open the farm on the next day. Here, you’ll be able to plant different Seaweed seeds that you can get from Kazhin’s shop.

Only two plots will be unlocked at the start, butyou can get more by spending some Sea People village currency.

This currency can easily be acquired by playing different gambling games on the far-right side of the village.

This is the best farm in the game because you don’t have to tend to it. Once planted, the seeds willautomatically grow in a few days depending on the type of Seaweed planted. Moreover, it’s quite hard to get Seaweed while you’re diving since it can blend quite well with the rest of the environment.

Once you have all your farms unlocked, it’s recommended to check on them at least once in the Morning or Afternoon. As mentioned above, you’re able to only keep tabs on the Vegetable farm with the FarmNow app.
