No Man’s Skyhas grown a lot since the days when it felt a little like an early access game. Nowadays, it can lay claim to being the epic free-roaming space adventure andworth a new player’s time, but there is a daunting amount to do or discover — which is where a save editor comes in handy.

The No Man’s Sky save editor has been around for almost as long as the game itself and fans can use it to cut down on a lot of thetedious resource gatheringthat’s normally part of the experience. It’s easy to get going with it, too. However, it should be pointed out that this is technically cheating and uses a third-party program. It doesn’t affect any other players and Hello Games hasn’t attempted to shut it down, but caution is nonetheless advised.
How To Get The No Man’s Sky Save Editor
The No Man’s Sky editor was created by goatfungus and can be downloaded from their page onGithub. Scroll down to the Installation section anddownload the latest version of NMSSaveEditor.exefrom the link provided. There’s also a link to a Save Wizard for the PS4 version, although as this seems to be a paid program, it’s far easier (and safer) to do on PC.
Run the program file and extract the contentsto a folder somewhere. This can be anywhere, it doesn’t have to be in the game’s folder. Nowrun the NMSSaveEditor batch file. When the window appears, it should automatically detect No Man’s Sky, if it’s already installed.Choose the most recent game slot and then the save file to edit. Depending on what’s in the save, the editor’s other tabs should now be accessible.
How To Use The Save Editor
Once it’s installed, actually using the save editor program to change No Man’s Sky is a piece of cake.Each tab represents a different part of the game to optionally change. For example, the first tab is the Exosuit and shows all the items that the player is carrying at the time of the chosen save file.
To get more of what you already have, simplydouble-click on an item and change the quantity to any number between 0 and the maximum. To get an item or substance the you don’t already have,right-click on an empty slot, select ‘add item,’ and then find the item required.
To get more inventory slots,right-click on a blanked-out slot and check ‘enabled’ or ‘enable all slots’for everything. Inventories for ships, storage, etc. all work the same way.
The options are also available to edit the likes of ships, vehicles, companions, and even player discoveries and milestones.
After editing,save all the changes, boot up No Man’s Sky, and load the altered save file. Check any changes made to make sure the edit worked, such as items in the inventory. If everything worked fine, enjoy having a much easier time exploring the galaxy!
