The reveal trailer for the arena fighter, which is subtitled Cursed Clash, showcased several playable characters from the series, including Yuji Itadori, Satoru Gojo, Megumi Fushiguro, and Nobara Kugisaki. Although the first half of the trailer made it seem as if the fighter is a one-on-one affair, we later see that up to four players can be on the screen at the same time, which does set it apart from some of Bandai Namco’s other 3D anime arena fighters such as My Hero: One’s Justice and One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows.
Further details on the game are a little slim right now since it was only just announced, but it has been confirmed for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and Steam. A release window hasn’t yet been confirmed either, but the “coming soon” shown at the end of the trailer seems to suggest it’s aiming for 2024 and not this year.
Cursed Clash is sure to be an exciting announcement for fans of Jujutsu Kaisen, but it’s likely not too much of a surprise - although this is the first time that we’re hearing about the game, Jujutsu Kaisen has consistently remained popular over the past few years, so a gaming adaptation was really just a matter of when and not if. Now we just need a Chainsaw Man game and most of this generation’s most popular anime will be represented.
