It may seem difficult to comprehend for those that jumped into theKingdom Heartsin the later games, but Sora didn’t start out as an all-powerful Keyblade wielder. Most of us take Sora on a grand old adventure with Donald and Goofy in the first Kingdom Hearts, gaining experience as we go to gather up enough power to take on the Heartless, but there are some people out there who like to prepare a little first.
In fact, some people like to spend over 250 hours preparing, such as YouTuber Reptilian Pineapple, who spent a ridiculous amount of time getting Sora to level 100 without stepping foot outside of Destiny Islands. For the best part of four months, Reptilian Pineapple has been slowly gathering XP by constantly fighting Tidus, streaming the entire journey for their viewers on both YouTube and TikTok.

If you’re wondering how that’s even possible, Reptilian Pineapple uses Sora’s slide dash ability to constantly slide into Tidus and automatically trigger a parry. Ordinarily, parries only give 2 XP, but equipping Tech boosts over the course of the grind session eventually increases that total to 6 XP, which is a lot higher than what you’d normally get for simply beating Tidus in battle. After that, it’s just a gruelling battle of patience and persistence, one which lasted over a distressingly long 252 hours.
If you can believe it, Reptilian Pineapple isn’t actually the first person to do this, with that accolade going to Aaroneous Gaming who accomplished the task back in 2018. However, it’s such a ridiculous tiem sink that it’s worthy of a shout out, and the fact that the last time it happened was back in 2018 should signify how much patience you need to do it, along with a whole lot of love for Sora and Kingdom Hearts.
If you want to watch the highlights of Reptilian Pineapple’s journey to level 100, you can check out their TikTok and YouTube channels. Throughout their final stream they also promised that they’re going to do one final Kingdom Hearts stream in which they’ll use Sora’s incredible power to blitz through the entire game. They’ll then move onto Kingdom Hearts 2, in which they’ll probably attempt another ridiculous feat of patience and grinding. Godspeed.
In other Kingdom Hearts news, Square Enix recently released some new merch for Kingdom Hearts fans, that beinga deck of cards based on the ones Sora uses in Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. Quite why you’d want a reminder that Chain of Memories exists is beyond me personally, but I’m not here to yuck anyone’s yum.
