Thankfully for fans, not only have these character additions been revealed, but so have the actors portraying them. From bodybuilders toMCUstars, here are all the characters coming to the sequel and the actors portraying them debuting in Mortal Kombat Two.
7Shao Kahn
The ultimate final boss, Shao Kahn, will be making his live-actionreturn in Mortal Kombat2. Though nothing is confirmed, it’s an easy bet to believe that the emperor will be the film’s main antagonist. The Emperor of Outworld is known for his ruthlessness and violent wrath, so who knows what carnage he can create upon his arrival.
Shao Kahn will be played by Martyn Ford, a professional bodybuilder and actor who recently appeared in F9. Ford has the sheer physical form and presence of Shao Kahn, so it will be exciting to see how commanding and vile he can be in live action.
6Queen Sindel
The wife of Shao Kahn (and former wife of King Jerrod), Queen Sindel is a screaming powerhouse that often teeters between good and evil within her appearances. The commanding and loud woman is a brutal fighter and a very important monarch within the MK mythos. Her interrupted reign in Outworld has set up countless characters, from Kitana to Jade to Mileena.

It is unclear whether the film will follow a more sympathetic, classic approach or a vile and manipulative role likeMortal Kombat 11’s version. What is known is that Sindel will be played by the Vietnamese Australian actress Ana Thu Nguyen.
5King Jerrod
Edenia’s former ruler and Kitana’s true father, the old KingJerrod was murdered by Shao Kahn, who usurped his throne. Jerrod has never been a playable character, and he is often forgotten by fans. However, Jerrod’s presence helps elevate the surrounding characters like Shao Kahn and Sindel, and his appearance is vital within the Mortal Kombat lore.
A tragic and kind character within a dark and violent world, Jerrod will make his cinematic debut in MK 2. He will be portrayed by Desmond Chiam, who recently found fame as an antagonist inMarvel’sFalcon and the Winter Soldier series.
4Kitana
Kitana is one of the most iconic female characters in the Mortal Kombat roster and amainstay in the series. Though her sister Mileena already made her appearance in the first film, Kitana will be making her debut in Mortal Kombat 2. Kitana often remains prominent in the main story, so it can be expected that the film will follow this trend and make her a main character.

The additions of Edenian and Outworld royalty seem to showcase a glimpse into Mortal Kombat 2’s potential story, one that connects to the reign of Outworld and the destruction of the Edenian Kingdom. Princess Kitana will be portrayed in this conflict by Adeline Rudolph.
3Jade
Jade has portrayed many roles in her life, from assassin to bodyguard to spy to the voice of reason, but most importantly, she is the wise and protective best friend of Princess Kitana. Never wavering in her sense of duty and courage, Jade has always been a fascinating character in the MK lore.
Jade will be portrayed by Tati Gabrielle, who found fame for her work in the series, You. However, you can probably guess Jade’s role –presumably as Kitana’s bodyguard and head assassin for Shao Kahn– there have been multiple big changes to characters in the past MK film, so who knows what surprises we are in for.
2Johnny Cage
Everyone’s favorite emerald glowing, smart-mouthed, nut-crackingarrogant movie starwill finally be making his return to the MK movies. Fans have been clamoring for a Johnny Cage arrival since the announcement of the first MK film, but Cage’s spot had been filled by the debuting Cole Young.
Thankfully, Cage will be making his arrival; however, fans are somewhat skeptical. Johnny will be played by Karl Urban, and though he is a fantastic actor, viewers aren’t exactly sure how he’ll fit in as Cage. Only time will tell how this portrayal will end up.
1Quan Chi
Thevile and cunningdemon sorcerer will finally be appearing in Mortal Kombat 2, portrayed by Damon Herriman, who has found recognition in playing villains such as Charles Manson in Mindhunter…and Charles Manson in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.
Quan Chi has often managed to weasel his way into the main story of many Mortal Kombat games, often as the architect of other fighters' suffering. It will be interesting to see how he fits into the story of the film, perhaps even usurping Shao Kahn and Sindel to become the main antagonist for the heroes.
