Season Two ofWorld of Warcraft: Dragonflightrefreshes the Mythic Plus pool, with the previous dungeons rotating out. The other four Dragonflight dungeons now enter the scene, bringing with them new challenges and rewards.

Neltharus stands to the North of the Waking Shores, guarding the Obsidian Citadel and the hoard of the Black Dragonflight. This guide will teach you the best route through the Neltharus dungeon, the key enemies and abilities you need to watch out for, as well as what gear rewards you can receive from a successful run.

Magmatusk Trash

From the entrance, take the left path and proceed down the linear corridor. Be careful of thepatrol after the first two packs, as quite a few mobs are standing around within ninja pull range.

The route to Magmatusk can be done in just three pulls, as you can skip some of the trash to the sides of the first main room.

Be careful of pulling Thaumaturges with Ore Elementals, as they can turn them into Molten Elementals, which can quickly wipe your group.

Good enemies to use Tank defensives on.

Volcanic Guard

Charges up their shield and blasts a frontal beam of fire.

This has a long charge time, so you should have plenty of time to dodge.

Magma Conflagration

Channels light fire damage into a random player.

The damage of this ability is not super high, but it can also be interrupted to reduce the damage.

Molten Core

Cast that turns an active Ore Elemental into a Molten Elemental

Prioritise interrupting this as a Molten Elemental is a very dangerous foe.

Qalashi Plunderer x2

Explosive Concoction

Creates a pool of fire at a random player, dealing ticking damage to anyone inside.

Easy enough to dodge, although the large models of the enemies can provide visual clutter.

Chargath Boss Model And Fight In Neltharus In World Of Warcraft

Granite Shell

Places a large Physical damage absorb shield onto itself.

These enemies don’t do much, so just DPS through the shield.

Pulses continuous fire damage to all players, applying one and increasing for eachMolten Vulnerabilitystack.

Very bad if it is allowed to go off, nuke any Molten Elemental that becomes active.

Magmatusk

The first boss in this Neltharus route is Magmatusk, a large fire magmammoth. He is a very simple encounter but can be punishing if you are not positioned well or let the fight go on too long. Take care when doing the mechanics, and you should be fine.

Strategy

Lava Spray

Fires a cone of lava at a random player, dealing Fire damage and spawning a Lava Pool.

Try tostay slightly spreadand not position this onto other players.

Blazing Charge

Charges at a random player, dealing high Physical damage and spawning a Lava Wave upon colliding with a wall.

While you canbait the charge into a nearby wallto limit Magmatusk’s travel distance, your main priority is tododge the charge and the Lava Wave.

Volatile Mutation

Magmatusk erupts at 100 energy, gaining a Magma Tentacle and triggering Magma Eruption.

This is the time to use defensives as the DoT ramps up in intensity.

Magma Eruption

Magmatusk blows up, dealing Fire damage to all players and leaving them with a nasty Fire DoT.

Tanks shouldtry not to position Magmatusk inside a Lava Pool, as this will enrage him and increase his damage.

Magma Tentacle

Each application increases the number of Lava Waves spawned, the damage of Lava Spray, and the duration of Magma Eruption.

Acting as a pseudo-enrage,killing Magmatusk as quickly as possible is imperativebefore he gains too many stacks.

Chargath Trash

After killing Magmatusk,proceed south onto his broken balcony, and jump off the ledge back into the central room.Cross over the large platform up onto the western stairs.

This path contains a high number of enemies, but most are fairly tame, so you might want to test out some big pulls in this section to speed up your time.

Qalashi Hunter x7

Binding Spear

Hurls a spear at a player’s location, pinning them to the ground if struck.

Dodge the small brown swirlie, or DPS the player out of the spear if they are hit.

Bold Ambush

Dashes to a random player, dealing light Physical damage and applying a three-second Bleed.

Ember Reach

Cast that deals low Fire damage to a player.

These non-elite enemies can easily be cleaved down in big pulls.

Qalashi Trainee x5

Magma Fist

Performs an attack combo in a frontal cone dealing moderate Fire damage.

Easy to dodge out of or stun.

Mending Clay

Cast that grants an enemy a strong HoT.

Make sure to interrupt this ability, as the heal can be quite hefty, and it will slow down your kills.

Overseer Lahar x1

Burning Roar

Cast that knocks up all players, interrupts, and deals high Fire damage to all players in a large area.

This is yourpriority interrupt, but the cast time is long, so he should never be allowed to get this off.

Eruptive Crush

Slams into a nearby location, causing lava to spew out from the landing point.

Dodge the large brown swirlie.

Chargath

The second boss, Chargath, is a lot like Magmatusk, whereby if you focus on mechanics, he becomes relatively simple to beat. Focusing on not panicking during his Fiery Focus phase and correctly staggering the chain breaks will lead you to success.

Dragon Strike

Charges to a random player, dealing light Physical damage and applying a 14-second Bleed.

Simply spot-heal the player with the Bleed.

Magma Wave

Aims a slow-moving wave of lava at a random player, which deals high Fire damage if struck.

This has a long wind up, so you have plenty of time to dodge.

Grounding Spear

Hurls three spears at random players, pinning them to the ground in a pool of fire. They are then chained and slowed until dragging their chain across the boss.

Stagger your chain breaks on the boss, as it will deal a stacking Fire DoT for each chain broken.

Fiery Focus

Spins in a wheel of fire, dealing Fire damage in an area around him and spewing fire swirls around the arena.

The only way to stop this is tostun the boss by tripping him with three chains, so take your time and avoid any fire damage.

Slag Eruption

If he finishes his Fiery Focus cast, Chargath will apply a huge Fire DoT to all players.

This should be avoided at all costs, as you have plenty of time to trip Chargath during his Fiery Focus ability.

Forgemaster Gorek Trash

After defeating Chargath, a small side door will open up in the boss arena, and you should proceed north, killing all the trash on your way.

Feel free to pull some of it up the long spiral staircase, as it is quite a long run to the next boss.

Once you enter Forgemaster Gorek’s room, two large patrols will alternate their paths beyond the boss.Watch out for double pulling these, as the Forgebound Monstrosities will endlessly pulse AoE damage onto the group.

Throw Lava

Throws pools of lava at a player, dealing Fire damage and leaving behind a nasty Fire puddle.

Avoid these puddles as best you may,as this high-health enemy can take a while to bring down.

Lava Drip/Spill

Successful melee attacks and death will cause the Lavabearer to drop pools of lava onto the ground.

Melee should attempt to avoid any pools while DPSing, or you can drag the enemy around into safe areas.

Qalashi Irontorch x6

Mote of Combustion

Cast that applies a Fire DoT to a player, which deals damage and explodes for AoE Fire damage after six seconds.

Interrupt and cleave down these enemies.

Qalashi Bonesplitter x3

Dragonbone Axe

Throws an axe at a random player, which causes a hefty Bleed over ten seconds.

Try tospot-heal the afflicted player, or cleanse the Bleed, as it is especially nasty.

Reverberating Slam

Physical damage Tank buster.

Make sure to keep a defensive up when pulling multiple of these enemies.

Forgemaster Gorek

Forgemaster Gorekis the third Neltharus boss and is mainlya heal check with some tight positioning.Making sure to bespread out while not line of sighting your healer behind Gorek’s anvilis the main test during this encounter.

Make sure not to ninja pull any patrolsyou have chosen to leave alive, as they can path quite close to Gorek’s anvil.

Might of the Forge

Gorek strikes his forge three times, dealing moderate Fire damage to all players.

This is the phase touse healing cooldowns and personal defensives;the damage is pretty high but very consistent.

Blazing Aegis

Gorek flings his shield at three random players, dealing Fire damage and spewing out four lines of fire swirlies.

Spread out for this move so that the fire lines do not overlap with other players.

Heated Swings

Smashes the Tank with a high Physical damage strike, before leaping to their location and spawning a lava pool on impact.

Position yourself to be hit into a wall and immediately run out of the indicated zoneto avoid his slam.

Forgestorm

Spawns multiple fire swirlies at random points in the room.

Fairly easy to avoid, prioritise moving around to the correct side of the anvil, to be within range of your healer.

Warlord Sargha Trash

After beating Forgemaster Gorek, you should return down the long corridor, dodging the mini-boss, and defeat the two ?Then,jump off the small broken ledge back into the inner sanctum.

The way to Warlord Sargha will now be unlocked, and a new pack of enemies will have spawned in your path. Defeating these will grant access to the final corridor, which you should proceed down, being careful not to pull all the packs in one go.

Avoid these puddles as best you can, as this high-health enemy can take a while to bring down.

Apex Blazewing x2

Candescent Tempest

Rapidly flaps its wings, pushing all players back and dealing moderate Fire damage.

Try toposition yourself against a wallso that you can keep DPSing this enemy while being pushed.

Scalding Chomp

Tank buster that deals both Fire and Physical damage.

Focus down these big birds, as both of their abilities deal high damage.

This has a long charge time, so you should have plenty of time to dodge

Interrupt if possible, but not a priority.

Molten Barrier

Applies a large shield that prevents interruption and explodes on destruction for Fire damage.

Nuke through the shield to kick Molten Army as fast as possible.

Molten Army

Channel that creates Lava Spawns until interrupted.

Kick as soon as possible and cleave down any spawned adds.

Warlord Sargha

A potentially tricky encounter, Warlord Sargha is another fight with a tight heal check and reliant on the group staying composed and calm while fire rains down everywhere.

If you don’t have a decurse, attempt to delay picking up your Treasures, as the Curse damage might be too much to handle. However, if your group can dispel it, feel free to pre-pick up the items, as you want them ready for Sargha’s shield phase.

This cannot be dispelled so spot-heal whoever is targeted,

The Dragon’s Kiln

Aims a frontal cone that deals huge Fire damage to any player struck.

Prioritise dodging this, asthe cone is very wide,soranged may want to try and position themselves close to the boss.

Burning Ember

Spawns a Burning Ember add that fixates a random player and slowly runs towards them, spreading pools of lava as it travels.

Nuke and crowd control this addto restrict the amount of room it takes up with its lava.

Backdraft

Strikes the Tank and causes them to take 100 percent extra Physical damage for ten seconds.

Best time to use a Tank defensive.

Magma Shield

Creates a large shield on herself, pulsing AoE fire damage to all players and firing out numerous fire swirlies around the room. Damage taken increases over time.

The way to deal with this mechanic is toinflict damage to her shield via the Treasures scattered around the room. Picking up a Treasure will give you a permanent Curse DoT, but also an active one that can be used to deal huge damage to shields.Decurse the DoT as soon as you can.

Mutated Magmammoth Scale

Strength/ Agility Trinket

Random proc to deal Fire damage to nearby enemies, increases with each enemy struck.

Erupting Spear Fragment

Agility/ Intellect Trinket

Active: Throw a spear into an enemy, dealing Fire damage split among nearby foes and gaining Crit Strike for each enemy hit.

One-Handed Mace

Haste, Crit, proc chance to cause your attacks to explode for additional Fire damage
