But Yuma is a fighter, Kokohead surname be darned. For all his reasonable regret, we want to watch him remember the importance of his prior actions, because he’s been a force for change here in Kanai Ward. Let’s see how that goes, eh?
No Longer A Detective, Part One: Resistance Is Futile
Our first order of business is to hide. There are already several interactive objects around this lavish room, but it’s best to do as the game insists for now. Have Yumahide behind the couch. After the scene, check the various objectsfor DP before speaking with our new friend.
Follow the objective marker acrossGinma Districtwhen you can, staying on the lower side of the street. Get up off the couch in this not-so-nice little hovel after the van scene, andtry to leave through the doorfor a scene. Now,talk to each Resistance memberin turn, probably beginning with Servan.
You’ll getdifferent dialoguedepending on whether you agree to join the Resistance, but the outcome will be the same either way.
Up on the roof, take a look at the two yellow objective markers. To no avail, it seems! Yuma will agree to Shachi’s terms; after, check all the interactive objectslike usual here at the Resistance base. Chatting with the various members again for further context isn’t a bad either.
Do as Yuma says to Shinigami, andgo over to the hotel in Kamasaki District. Here in Marunomon District, as well as elsewhere throughout the Ward, there arenew requeststo undertakeif you so desire. As always, we’re not covering those directly here; we’ll have another guide up and ready for them ASAP.
We’re off toGinma Cafenext, where Yuma’s reunited with a certain someone. The following phone tap, at thevending machine, will require you towalk to the objective markeron the mini-map before the story will continue. Ask Fubuki all three questions to continue (though you could skip to ‘Nothing in particular’ to end the conversation early, but you shouldn’t!).
You cantake the busto the Academy from here. This is the deadline for requestsand other forms of exploration this chapter!
En route to the next story location, you can see why requests were cut-off beforehand. There’s nothing you can do but follow the plot at this point; interactions won’t award DP, but you can still attempt to talk to various NPCs just for dialogue.
No Longer A Detective, Part Two: Quick-Reverse-Time Events
TwoQTE sequenceswill kick up soon. For the first,go leftby pressing left on the analog stick. Next, hide behind the barrelby pressing B before time runs out. After the scene, head forthe door to Yuma’s rightfrom behind the counter to continue.
Examine both the corpse and the gun at the investigation scene. You’ll get the first two Solution Keys. You want to check outthe door and the neighboring building(for the latter, there’s a prompt right at the ledge of the roof you’re on, near the door).
Then, scoot over to the roof ledge to your left, where you’ll pick up clues fromRooftop EdgeandRear Parking Lot. Anumbrellais close to the corpse, andSurveillance Camerais near the steps Yuma climbed to get here.
At the QTE prompt, we choseto go left. Full disclosure, we’re not quite sure what going right does - we’ll update the guide ASAP on this front. But going left led to the story’s continuation. Once this follow-up scene concludes, get ready topress Bat the QTE prompt right after the loading screen is finished.
There’s apress Yprompt when Yuma and Fubuki are hiding at the edge of a wall. One of the guards will lure the other away by saying he saw something suspicious;press Aat yet another prompt.
No Longer A Detective, Part Three: Bombs For Boom-Kills
And now for what we’ve all been waiting for - a quirky mini-game.Choose the bottom-left image.Success! En route to the third bomb, you’ll bump into a Peacekeeper guard.Choose the brick, not the soda can! Get ready tohit the B buttonsoon after our heroes make their brick-laden getaway.
For our second mini-game of good old-fashioned bomb defusal, the correct choice isthe letter ‘R’. Ask Margulaw about all the Resistance leaders, and be prepared topress left on the analog stickthesecondtime a car nearly hits Yuma and Fubuki. The last bomb defusal mini-game isdifferent from the first two; the answer is the bottom-right block.
There’ll be yet another QTE as Yuma and the others exit the hotel.Press left on the analog stick, then get ready to press again after the time rewind. Andagainshortly thereafter. Fourth time’s the charm two seconds later. You’ll need topress Xshortly after the screen changes to a new location. Two more QTEs soon thereafter, and lastly, press A to jump on the truck.
Rain Code’s third chapter is just chock-full of mini-games, isn’t it? Now we’re piloting a boat. The controls are self-explanatory (and the tutorial tells them to you anyway). We don’t often note these in the walkthrough guides, but there’san easily missable collectibledead ahead right after you pass the safe.
During the subsequent investigation phase, simply look at everything in the room per usual. You’ll soon get into some serious trouble, so it’s time for you-know-what…
Mystery Labyrinth, Part One: Left-Handed Man
By now y’all know the drill - we’ll separate each puzzle into its own quick section so you may get through Rain Code’s dungeons with ease.
Questions
God Shinigami Rush
We only ran into a single question obstacle here. Contrary to prior Mystery Labyrinths, where there were multiples - it might be normal, or it may be a glitch. We will re-enact the sequence soon to determine the truth!
