Prime Day continues. Yes, that’s right, despite the word day being right there in its name, Prime Day actually runs for two days, you lucky lot. Bad news for those of you who did all your spending on day one, not knowing there was a day two, and now you’re about to see a whole new smattering of deals you absolutely can’t pass up on, like the one below forOctopath Traveler 2.

That’s right, a game that has only been on the market for five months, and a popular one at that, is currently significantly reduced for the second day of Amazon’s Prime Day celebrations. $60 down to $30 across all consoles on which the Ocotopath Traveler sequel is available, soPS4,PS5, andNintendo Switch. It’s actually a few cents less on PS4 for some reason and since the last-gen version includes a free PS5 upgrade, you can technically buy the current-gen version for a little less. I’d personally pay the additional 35 cents for it to be in a PS5 case, but that’s just me.

Sadly there is still noXboxversion, something that is becoming increasingly common asSquare Enixcontinues to buddy up withPlayStation. No Octopath Traveler,Final Fantasy 16, orForspokenfor Xbox so far in 2023, althoughSeries Xowners probably aren’t too bothered about that last one. The other two though, game of the year contenders, and seeing Octopath Traveler 2 at a reduced price this Prime Day may well hurt those without a compatible console even more.

WHERE TO PLAY

Any other year, and Octopath Traveler 2 would be a surefire contender for GOTY. Well worth the price tag anyway, at a reduced price for Prime Day, it’s an absolute steal. The only potential downside is how much of your time you let it have.

Telling the stories of eight different main characters that you rotate between, Octopath Traveler is an incredibly in-depth RPG. One you might argue has been Square’s best of the year so far despite the recent launch of Final Fantasy 16. For $40, it is more than worth the money, especially when you calculate how many hours you’ll spend playing the game if you like it, which seems like a sure thing if you’ve found yourself on this page.

If Octopath Traveler isn’t your thing, or it is but you’re still looking for more video game deals this Prime Day,a selection of Mario games for Nintendo Switch are half price right now. An incredibly rare thing, and the selection even includesMario Kart 8 DeluxeandSuper Mario Odyssey.
