Ubisoft gave usour first extended look at Star Wars: Outlaws today, showcasing some truly impressive gameplay segements and some story details. However, it isn’t the beautfiul open world, intense dogfights, polished stealth sections, or even the adorable little axolotl dog Nix that have people talking the most - it’s our beloved protagonist Kay’s hot robot sidekick ND-5.Pretty soon after ND-5 was revealed to Star Wars fans, pretty much everyone agreed that developer Ubisoft Massive must have gone out of its way to ensure the droid looks as smoking as possible. Commando droids were already pretty cool to begin with, but the decision to add a trench coat, a gnarly gash across his chest, and a low riding holster can’t be seen as anything other than the developers deliberately trying to gets it fanbase as horned up over a robot as it can.Related:If This Is How You Played Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, You Don’t Deserve CustomisationGo into any thread talking about ND-5 on Twitter, and you’ll find a whole bunch of people perplexed as to how Ubisoft Massive has managed to turn a commando droid into such a snack. There are people questioning how the developers have managed to give a droid “a pronounced six pack”, with one user flabbergasted that they’re somehow “horny for a clanker”. One person thinks it has something to do with his “snatched” waist though.
Away from the absolute chad that is ND-5, and you’ll find other Star Wars fan chatting about how theyreally hope you don’t have to go back to Tatooine at some pointin Star Wars: Outlaws. It’s already known that the game takes place between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, and lots of people are hoping this doesn’t mean another trip to Luke’s homeworld is on the cards, especially when there’s a massive galaxy full of interesting and unique planets to explore for the first time.
To be honest, as long as I’m with ND-5 and Nix, this lovable band of scoundrels could take me literally anywhere in the galaxy and I’d be having a great time. We’ll have to wait a little while before we get to do that though, as it was announced that Star Wars: Outlaws will launch at some point in 2024.
