Although Payday fans are slowly finding out more about the third game, like the number of heists it has and whether or not certain characters will be making a return, there’s still a lot about the game that we currently don’t know. While we’re still in the speculation phase leading up to the game’s launch in a few months, Payday fans are discussing some “forgotten” features from the first game that they’d like to see make a return.
Over on the Payday: The Heist subreddit, Redditor bladestorm1745 started the discussion off by asking other fans what they want to see make a return from the first Payday in the third game. This doesn’t count features from Payday 2 that players would like to see, as we currently don’t know everything that’s returning from the second game.
There are a range of different answers but by far the most-requested feature is for the heisters to be more vocal and chat to each other more in the middle of a heist. The original poster on the thread said that they’d like the gang to be more “vocal and conversational” during heists, pointing to how they argued in the first game’s diamond heist when the codes don’t work as an example.
This led to a lot of discussion about the best lines from the first game, as well as many raising the point that the reason for the lack of these dialogue lines in the sequel is due to the number of extra characters and how hard it would be to get everyone back in to record for every new heist added to the game.
A lot of the other answers are in a similar vein to the request for more conversations, not just between the heisters in the middle of a mission, but also between the handler and the gang. Players also want cops to be more vocal this time around, and to be able to call out special units while downed.
Outside of being more chatty, one highly-requested feature in the thread is the ability to attempt to be stealthy before going in loud, something that’s actually been implemented in Payday 3 as the player can move between different states of being spotted. Similarly, the request for a third gun (even if it can only be used once) is also something that Payday 3 has actually already done, as there’s now a new Overkill weapon that can be unlocked in the middle of a heist.
