PlayStationstudio Deviation Games reportedly laid off as many as 90 employees, according to sources on Twitter and personal announcements shared on LinkedIn. The studio has not made an official statement on the matter.

The layoffs were described as a “difficult situation” that “forced” the company to make the cuts. It currently is unclear how or even if the number of employees has changed since Deviation’s partnership withSonywas made known back in June, 2021. The company was then staffed by around 100 employees. Deviation had been working on a “brand new original IP” with PlayStation, something that was already in development for a year at the time of the announcement. The studio has not revealed any details about the game.
