For those that have spent their fair share of time working the soil, fighting off monsters, and flitting from town to town, there are a few simple things they can pass on to new players. A lot of newbies miss out on these simple tips, so if you find yourself doing any of these, you know you’ve had many notches on your farmer’s belt.

7Turn Tilled Land Back to Normal

If you’ve ever accidentally tilled some soil or simply want to rearrange your farm’s layout, you’ve likely faced the conundrum of how to ‘untill’ the soil. If you’ve come fromStardew Valleyor other farming games, you’ll likely be pulling out the old pickaxe in an attempt to do so.

You’ll quickly find that that does nothing, but the simple and easily missed trick in Sun Haven is to simply right-click on the tilled plot of land while having your hoe equipped. Sun Haven loves a right-click function, and seasoned players will know this with ease.

6Make People Forget Your Romance

Navigating romance in Sun Havenis relatively simple, but things can get complicated if you realize that you don’t really want to progress your relationship with a specific character anymore. Maybe things have gone too far and you don’t know how to turn things back! Or perhaps you just want to redo some core moments in the relationship.

Lucky for you, you can actually make someone completely forget about your romance with them. Pro players know that Bernard can provide a Memory Loss Potion for 50 community tokens at the Sun Haven Town Hall. Gifting this to the person you want to un-romance will make the whole world forget about your relationship and reset both your dialogue and hearts with that individual.

5Restore And Repair The Town

When you first arrive at Sun Haven, it’s a quaint place that could use some work. Even as you start to expand your farm and start discover Nel’Vari and Withergate, you may miss out on rebuilding the town that first welcomed you with open arms.

Those that have accomplished most of their daily tasks will know that there are many shut-down shops and broken-down structures worth repairing in town. Aside from the beachside bridge, you may rebuild the statue by the library, the dog house by Topi and Pod’s homes, and tons of stores across the main town. Repairing these will grant access to new rewards, affinity with townsfolk, and new gameplay elements.

4Attend More Than One Date At The Same Time

You might think that you need to be mindful of when you set dates because they’ll often get scheduled at the same time! Since these dates are missable, many players end up picking one over the other when they have multiple characters waiting at a certain time. If you do forget a date and miss it, there aremods to remedy that problem.

However, even a modless playthrough lets you thrive in the dating scene before settling down. Time doesn’t pass when you go on dates, so if you have a date at 12pm, it will still be noon by the time your date ends. The game also allows you to do the set date up to two hours after the actual time, so you have the freedom to go from one place to another if everything got lined up on the same day.

3Get Your Seeds Back

So, you accidentally planted a crop that you didn’t intend to put in that specific plot. Veteran farmers will know that it’s possible to get your seeds back even after you’ve planted them! And, yes, this still works even if the seed has already sprouted into a crop.

All you have to do is equip your hoe and then right-click on the plot of tilled land where you planted your seed. This will cause the crop to revert back to a seed bag that you can then pick up. Of course, this action will also untill the land, so you’ll have to re-till any plots that you’ve collected seeds from.

2Leave Grown Crops And Flowers Unwatered

You need to water your crops every day for them to mature. Early players will be quick to harvest crops, but there are plenty of reasons to keep fully-grown flowers and crops on the field. Those that have spent enough time in the game will know that leaving these unwatered won’t make them die, as long as you have scarecrows up to prevent pests from taking them.

In your Nel’Vari farm, leaving certain crops planted will attract relevant critters and wildlife that will bring you resources. In Sun Haven, you may want to keep flowers to power your bee box and create bouquets for the museum. Pests won’t bother with flowers and usually go for other crops.

1Get Freebies Just By Exploring

On top of its farm sim bones, Sun Haven is a funRPG with great exploration. You can traverse different regions and you are rewarded for doing so! Even just examining points of interest across town will get you some rewards.

This is one of those games where you can try to interact with everything because you’ll often get an item or boost for doing so. Elios’ fountain is the most obvious one, but you can also interact with the library statues, training dummies at the barracks, birds by the general store, the picnic table by Lynn’s house, the frog by the cafe, and more. These will all occasionally give you some goodies for your farm, buffs, or experience points!
