Summary

Despite thePlayStation 5boasting the Kraken compression software that can shrink game file sizes down to something more manageable for the system, a lot of the games launched on the system wind up hitting the 100 GB milestone anyway.

An average PS5 has around 667 GB of storage space, which roughly lets you keep around ten to 15 games. That’s tough to work with since you probably prefer not to download a game all over again just to clear up enough space for the next big launch. An accurate list of PS5 game file sizes can help you circumnavigate all the mental gymnastics beforehand.

Updated on May 19, 2025, by Dennis Moiseyev:Next-gen PS5 video game titles just love giving your console a run for its money and then sending you running to the store to purchase new compatible SSD cards for extra storage space. Below we’ve added a couple more games with file sizes that approach 100 GB and, in most cases, far exceed that amount. Here are the ones you’ll have to worry about!

Although The Elder Scrolls Online has been out for quite a while now, the game still offers you the chance to explore all sorts of locations and interact with a multitude of enemies at several different stunning locations.

The game features more or less the same assets you’d find in the PS4 version but in 4k, hence the larger file size. It’san exploration-heavygame that lets you leave messages and call on other players in order to take out hard bosses.

14Gran Turismo 7

File Size: 89 GB

Gran Turismo is an old series, and the seventh installment features some of the most gripping environments and textures the series has showcased thus far. The cars gleam in the sunlight and the colors pop out fairly well.

It’s a racing game, so you can expect a ton of cars to get featured with their own unique quirks and stats. That definitely contributes to how much space this video game eats up on your console. Although, the single-player campaign isn’t as fun as the multiplayer mode.

The Final Fantasy series has been delivering video games withconsole-pushing graphicsfor quite a while now and this addition to the series is no exception to that rule. This action RPG isn’t turn-based though, but it compensates for that by providing you with a rich, detailed world to explore and get familiar with.

Be that as it may, the lack of diversity when it comes to character designs, and the linear level designs for most areas, leaves a lot to be desired for most fans of this story-driven series.

The protagonist firing from a position of height in Sniper Elite 5, with a beach below and a castle in the distance.

For a game heavily focused on stealth and tactical shooting, Sniper Elite 5 features a whole host of gorgeous settings and graphics that most likely take up a lot of the PS5’s disk space, and rightfully so.

The more realistic a sniper simulator is, the better. The single-player campaign is about 12 hours long, and there’s a multiplayer and co-op mode to keep you engaged once you’re done playing the story. It’s a gameplay experience similar to what the Hitman series has to offer but set during World War 2.

Rise Of The Ronin: The Ronin Using A Winged Glider To Fly Across The Landscape.

Rise of the Ronin being this high in storage may come as a shock to anyone, as not even its other PS-exclusive samurai game counterparts (Ghost of Tsushima and Nioh 2) take up nearly 100 GB of space. This might also be a determining factorin whether or not you find it’s worth it.

Rise of the Ronin actually comes from Team Ninja, the developers of the Nioh series, and the Soulslike gameplay and combat return with all new mechanics like gliding, grappling, and horseback riding in a much more robust open world. This game is also rooted more in history than the supernaturalin the Bakumatsu period of 1863 Japan, with real historical figures involved in the story.

Peter with the symbiote suit fighting Miles in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

To be ‘Greater Together’ in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and get a slice of the web-slinging action, you’ll also need to have greater storage space. That’s mainly due to the sequel’s far more expansive story and open world that now lets you swing around new NY locations like Queens and Brooklyn.

In general, Spider-Man 2 has a lot more for you to do activities and quests-wise, including facing new villains and side bosses depending on which character you play (Peter or Miles). Venom and Kraven the Hunter also take center stage as the main villains.

Using a flamethrower on an enemy in Far Cry 6.

The Far Cry series has been serving up some rather interesting stories for fans over the years, and Far Cry 6 pulls out everything in the devs’ arsenal to keep you at the edge of your seat, including prolific TV villain actor Giancarlo Esposito as the big bad Antón Castillo.

Thelarge open-worldisland map and tons of weapons to play with make it a must-have video game from the series. There are tons of enemies to engage with, a lot of vehicles you’re able to drive, and realistic settings that are definitely graphically demanding.

Aloy walks along a path leading to forestation in Horizon Forbidden West.

A blend of wild west gun-slinging and future technology, Horizon Forbidden West is a cinematic experience that features complex characters and an in-depth story campaign that’s not only engrossing but also fun to play.

The video game features a stunning open-world map to explore with a terrain filled with cybernetically enhanced enemies that include robo dinosaurs. It’s a big game that will take you more than 30 hours to end up finishing too.

The city of Baldur’s Gate in Baldur’s Gate 3 with a blue sky above.

Baldur’s Gate 3 on PS5 is also just slightly over the 100 GB mark, but it’s still less than the whopping 150 GB file size if you were to download it on PC, which would be like adding a whole other game to your PS5. With over 100 hours that you can put into the storyand then continue endlessly replaying on different runs, it’s safe to say the space is absolutely worth it.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is set in the world of Dungeons & Dragons using the Fifth Edition ruleset and the sheer number of areasand NPCs you may encounter and take side quests fromis probably enough to warrant such a file size. The graphics and world-building here are nothing short of magnificent as well.

Destiny 2 Strand Guardians Fighting Tormentor.

First launched back in 2017, Destiny 2 has been surprisingly consistent with its updates and still boasts a rather substantial chunk of fans who are still dedicated to this entry to the series. Since the video game’s been around for so long, it’s got enough content to warrant its rather large file size.

It’s afree fast-paced first-person shooterwith MMO capabilities, so it still keeps things fresh even for long-time players. You get tons of options to customize your character and even your guns.
