The latest limited-time event thatPokemon Gowill be hosting is theDark Flames Event,offering different new releases and unique changes to the in-game experience. Centered around both Dark and Fire-type Pokemon, there are several benefits provided with event that you won’t want to miss out on.

The Dark Flames Event will have a shorter duration than the majority of others offered in the past, being available for only four days. Taking placefrom Thursday, June 29 at 10AM local time to Sunday, July 2 at 8PM local time,we’ve included everything you need to know about this event in our complete guide below.

Pokemon Debuts

Turtonator,the Fire and Dragon dual-type Pokemon, will be making its Pokemon Go debut with this event. During the Dark Flames Event, you’ll be able to encounter and catch Turtonator through bothField Research Encountersand itsThree-Star Raid.

Mega Sableyewill also be making its Pokemon Go debut with this event. Starting with this event, this Mega Evolution can be found in its newMega Raid,rewarding you with Sableye Mega Energy if successfully completed.

This is the only method to acquire Sableye Mega Energy, a resource that is required to Mega Evolve a Sableye of your own.

There will befour main bonusesoffered throughout the duration of this event, mainly pertaining to Pokemon Go’s Raiding feature. Each of these four bonuses are listed below, so make sure to take advantage of them while you may!

Event Timed Research

The Timed Research for this event will have multiple paths,either focusing on Dark-type Pokemon or Fire-type Pokemon. Depending on which path you decide on, Incense used during this event will either have an increased Fire-type Pokemon spawn rate or a Dark-type Pokemon spawn rate.

Regardless of which path you choose, you’re able to expect to receive the same rewards for completing the different tasks involved in this Timed Research. This includes aPremium Battle Pass, 15,000 XP,andencounters with various event-themed Pokemon.

Event Field Research Task Encounters

Completing differentEvent Field Research Tasksmay earn you encounters with event-themed Pokemon. Obtained by visiting and spinning various PokeStops, each of the Pokemon that you’re able to expect to encounter from their completion can be found below.

Event Collection Challenge

For this event Collection Challenge, the Pokemon that you will be required to catch will depend on which path you opted for with the Event Timed Research. With either path that you’ve chosen, completing this Collection Challenge will reward you with5,000 XPand100 Houndoom Mega Energy.

Event Raid Pokemon

There will beseveral event-themed Pokemon found in Raidsduring the four days of the Dark Flames Event. This includes both Pokemon making their debuts with this event: Turtonator and Mega Sableye. Below you can find each of these Raid Pokemon and their specific Raid tier.

Heatran that are caught following the completion of their Five-Star Raids will know the Charged AttackMagma Storm.

This attack will have65 powerin Trainer Battles and75 powerin Raids and Gyms.

Event Wild Encounter Pokemon
