Redfallplayers aren’t happy withArkane’s silence, as they call for the devs to comment on the game’sdisappointing launch. Even players that are enjoying their time in Redfall more than most want the developer to acknowledge the performance issues that they’re running into, as those on PC are struggling to maintain a steady framerate andavoid bugs.

Many were expecting Arkane to issue a statement, most likely in the form of a solemn JPEG shared on Twitter. However, the studio is yet to comment on Redfall’s release at all, and is still hyping up the game on social media, despite detractors in the replies.

“Arkane needs to own their mistake and lay out the roadmap for what is next for the game,” says Reddit user Adequately_Insane. “It is universally acknowledged the game is in shambles and is underwhelming, so I think the devs should speak out about what they plan to do with the game next.”

“I agree, the worst they can do is ignore the feedback and stay silent,” says UncleObli. I don’t agree with a lot of people here: the game is salvageable. For instance, getting rid of bugs, better performances and an open world with more encounters would go a long way."

Right now, we do know that fixes are on the way at least. In fact, continuous support was promised even before launch, as it became aware that Redfall would be more of an ongoing game than Akrane’s past offerings. This led fans toargue over whether or not the game is actually a live service- something which, admittedly, still isn’t totally clear.

While Arkane is keeping quiet right now,Microsoftisn’t. Phil Spencer went on a podcast yesterday, and unsurprisingly, faced questions regarding Redfall’s launch. Here, he indicated that the mixed reviews came as a surprise to the team, withinternal mock reviews painting a much more optimistic image of its chances.

“There’s nothing that’s more difficult for me than disappointing the Xbox community and [watching] the community lose confidence, be disappointed,“says Spencer. “I’m disappointed, I’m upset with myself.”

He did, however, push back on complaints that Redfall would have benefited from a further delay. With this in mind, it seems that Arkane very much has its work cut out for itself if it’s to address all of the issues that players are running into. But right now, we’ll have to wait and see if Arkane even comments on the launch.
