Six years on fromBreath of the Wild, it’s hard to believeTears of the Kingdomis almost here. Less than two days to go until it finally launches, and someZeldafans are so excited about its arrival that they’re already queuing to make sure they get their physical copies as soon as possible.YouTuberAlex Pekalashared a photo of the line outside Nintendo New York (thanks,Nintendo Life). Pekala isn’t the only one there either, pitching up with a few others a full 72 hours before Tears of the Kingdom will be available at the New York store.RELATED:The Sad Guy Tears Of The Kingdom Ad Should Not Be Relatable“10 am today till 10 am Friday equals 72 full hours. This will be the longest I’ve ever waited without leaving the line,” Pekala tweeted. They also waited in line for theSwitch’s launch in 2017. That they’re queuing longer for Tears of the Kingdom than they did for the groundbreaking console on which it can be played demonstrates just how big of a deal this sequel is going to be.

If you’re now worried you might not be able to find a copy of Tears of the Kingdom on May 12, don’t panic. Even though a few eager gamers are already camped out, reliving the glory days of video game launches, it’s not actually a first come, first served scenario at the New York store.Nintendois expecting such a rush that you need a Warp Pipe Pass to get in and buy your copy this Friday. Pekala has also clarified that they’re sure there will be enough stock for everyone who has a pass.

If you’re now wondering why people with passes are queuing, that’s actually a good question. Just another indicator of exactly how big an event Tears of the Kingdom’s launch will be. Pekala and a few other Zelda fans likely just want to be among the first to get their physical copies while making the launch feel like more of an event in the process. Sharing it with other like-minded people and in Pekala’s case, making a little YouTube content in the process.

If you don’t fancy queuing up or waiting until your local store opens on Friday morning, you could just download the digital version as soon as the clock strikes midnight on May 12. If you’re able to’t wait until then, there’s alreadya Tears of the Kingdom copycat gameavailable on mobile. Be warned, even though its trailer makes it look like the Breath of the Wild sequel, the actual gameplay is almost definitely very different.
