The gaming industry continues to lose games and storefronts as console creators delist titles and shut down services, and yet anotherSoulCaliburtitle is about to bite the dust. Confirmed by the series' Twitter account in the early hours of Monday morning, SoulCalibur 5 is getting delisted, and you don’t have long to pick it up digitally before it’s too late.Reported byDelisted Gamesafter the news was broken (thanks,Toadsanime), it was confirmed that as of June 19, so just seven days from now, SoulCalibur 5 will no longer be available through thePS3andXbox 360online stores. The removal of SoulCalibur 5 from digital storefronts also means any physical copies out there are about to see their asking price skyrocket. Bandai Namcohas been slowly delisting all of its SoulCalibur games, so some of you might have been expecting this day for a while. In fact, by this time next week, the only SoulCalbur game available digitally will be SoulCalibur 6, the latest installment in the long-running fighting game series.

In a year that may well end up being the strongest one for fighting games in recent memory, it’s a real shame the options SoulCalibur fans have to play the series are about to become even more limited. AsStreet Fighter,Mortal Kombat, andTekkenlaunch new games, there’s currently no word on when or even if SoulCalibur will get a new installment. Older titles being delisted can sometimes be a sign a remake or remaster is coming, but five games in with one left to go, there has been no indication modern revisions of the series' early games are in the works.

2023 has already been a rough year for this sort of thing.Nintendo went through with its 3DS and Wii U store shutdownsearlier this year, andPac-Man 99’s servers will be going offlinein a few months.
