ThePokemon TCGis getting many fun-to-play decks, thanks to Scarlet and Violet. There’s a lot of variety and a lot of options to get the upper hand against those annoying decks from the VSTAR meta, and then, there’s a deck that no one expected to have because of its protagonist, Spidops ex.

RELATED:Pokemon TCG: Gardevoir Ex Deck Guide

This deck has a trick, as while the protagonist of this deck seems to be Spidops ex, the killer spider is not alone, as it’ll play alongside Leafeon VMAX. These two cards have many synergies, and it’s a pretty fun deck to play because no one expects to see it in action.

Spidops Ex

Spidops exis why Leafeon VMAX is again on the meta. This is because it has an ability namedTrap Territory, whichincreases your opponent’s active Pokemon’s Retreat Costto one Energy more.

So, if Stage 2 cards have a Retreat Cost of three Energy cards, if Spidops ex is either on the bench or on the Active Spot, its Retreat Cost will increase to four.

Pokemon TCG Spidops ex

Spidops ex also has an attack namedWire Hang, whichdeals 90 damage plus 30per every Energy on your opponent’s Pokemon’s Retreat Cost. It’s a great move, but it’s unlikely to attack with it because that’s the task of Leafeon VMAX.

Leafeon VMAX

Leafeon VMAXis in charge of attacking your opponent’s Pokemon. It has a move namedGrass Knot, whichdeals 60 plus 60 per Energy on your opponent’s Pokemon’s Retreat Cost, and has a second move namedMax Leaf, whichdeals 170 damage and heals 30 damagefrom Leafeon VMAX.

Now, you may see that the idea with Spidops ex is to accumulate as much of them in the bench as possible to bulk Leafeon VMAX’s damage. So, let’s see which tools can you use to do this in a quick manner.

Pokemon TCG Leafeon VMAX

Leafeon V

Leafeon Vplays an important role in this deck because of its ability,Greening Cells, whichlets you search for a Grass Energy card in your deckandattach it to any Pokemonyou like. After that, your turn will end.

Leafeon V will be there, supplying the rest of the Leafeon VMAXwith Energy cards so they are ready to burst the opposite team.

Pokemon TCG Leafeon V

Radiant Tsareena

Radiant Tsareenamade it in this deck solely because of its ability,Elegant Heal, whichheals 20 damage from each of your Pokemon on every turn. The idea is to use it whenever your Leafeon VMAX needs to heal and combine it with Leafeon VMAX’s Max Leaf.

Lumineon V

Lumineon Vis there whenever you need extra help setting things up or getting out of a stalemate. With Lumineon V, whenever you play it from your hand to your bench, you can search for a Supporter Card and put it in your hand.

Lost Vacuum

This deck will suffer a lot if someone uses aPath to the Peakagainst you because Path to the Peak is a stadium card thatnullifies the ability of Spidops ex.To prevent this from happening, you’ll useLost Vacuum, whichremoves any stadium in playand sends it to your Lost Zone.

This deck doesn’t use Lost Zone, so don’t worry. It won’t affect your or your opponent’s performance.

PokemonTCG Radiant Tsareena

Arven

Arvenis a great cardin case you need some extra setupor to find the Lost Vacuum to remove a stadium. If you use this card, you cansearch for an Item card and a Pokemon Tool in your deckand then put them in your hand.

Ultra Ball And Nest Ball

These two Balls will help you set up in turn one, so you can attack in turn two. WithNest Ball, you cansearch for a Basic Pokemonin your deck, and with theUltra Ball, you canlook for any Pokemon in your deck, but only if you discard two cards.

Klara

Klarais also useful because it’lllet you recycle cards in case you discarded them with the Ultra Ball. With Klara, you candraw two Pokemon and two Energy cards from your discard pileto your hand.

V Guard Energy

Playing this deck withV Guard Energycards is always a good idea. This is because they’llprotectLeafeon VMAXfrom 30 damage from V, VMAX, and VSTAR Pokemon.

How To Play A Spidops Ex Deck

You might want to go first becauseyou need to set Leafeon VMAX and Spidops ex as quickly as possible. attempt to get some Nest Balls and Ultra Balls to have Leafeon V and a Tarountula on your bench.

If you canalso draw the Radiant Tsareena, that’s cool, but that would be more in a casewhen you are playing against a Lost Box deck.

Pokemon TCG Lumineon V Card

With Leafeon V,use Greening Cells and attach as many Energy cards as you canto one of your Leafeon V. It’ll be the one that will evolve to Leafeon VMAX.

Of course, be sureyou have an extra Leafeon VMAX in your hand in case the first one gets killed. It’ll be enough if you attach two Energy cards to Leafeon V. As soon as you can evolve Tarountula, do it as well.

Pokemon TCG Lost Vacuum Card

The rest will be simple; you mustevolve Leafeon V into Leafeon VMAX, send it to the field, and start attacking. If you get attackedon your next turn, you canuse Radiant Tsareenato heal 20 damageand Leafeon VMAX’s Max Leafto heal 30 damage for a total of 50 damage healed.

If you need more damage, you can opt forattaching the Choice Belt to Leafeon VMAX.If your opponent has a lot of cards in their hand, you can use Judge to mess with their strategy. If you want to force a switch, you have Boss Orders and Serena available. At this point, it’ll be all about using your resources wisely.

Pokemon TCG Arven Card

Try to have a second Leafeon VMAX on the bench, ready to go if the first one gets knocked out.

Weaknesses

The main weakness of this deck is thecards that can block abilities, such asKlefki, Galarian Weezing, and to a lesser extent,Path to the Peak.Path to the Peak can get eliminated by Lost Vacuum, but Klefki and Galarian Weezingwill block Leafeon V’s ability to attach Energy cardsand Radiant Tsareena’s ability to heal.

This will stop you and leave your opponent enough time for their decks to build up. The only chance you have is if you can quicklyattack with Leafeon V andattach Energy cards manually.

Ultra Ball from the Pokemon TCG, with blurred background

Another problem in this deck is itslack of powerful resources to set up firstif you don’t start first during the match. You’ll need all the advantages you’re able to get, so whenever you can decide, choose to have the first turn.
