We all know the feeling, when you’re playing a game that you love for so long that you start to get bored. It could be because you finally managed to get so much money that failure isn’t really an option. Maybe it’s also because you’ve been playing for so long that some fatigue has finally come in, going through the in-game days in a routine rather than for fun.

Whatever it is, just know we’ve all felt it, but thankfully it also means we’ve come up with some ways to alleviate that pesky boredom. So instead of saving your game and quitting, why nottry these methodsto not be so bored inStardew Valley?

10Finish that community center

I know, I know. The community center can be a bit of a chore, and you’ve been telling yourself that you’re just waiting for the next season to roll over, so you can find the right seeds or crops to fill in all the right bundles.

However, it may be a good idea to just take a break from the farming for a bit and focus exclusively on finishing the community center. It’s a worthwhile goal that will take some time and give you something else to focus on in the game and accomplish, so you don’t feel so bored.

9Try playing with friends

If you’re bored then there’s already a solution, and it was in that first statement, you’rebored. But it doesn’t mean other people will be.

Why not try and start a farm with your friends through Stardew multiplayer? You can roleplay as different characters you invent that are moving to the town or maybe try to start with you each dividing the land, so you grow your own farms and compete with each other.

8Expand your horizons with mods

So it may seem like a typical answer, but there are dozens of mods for Stardew Valley. One that we’d recommend if you’re looking for something new isStardew Valley Expanded.

The mod adds different areas to explore, events to experience, and more dialogue. It also introduces a new plotline concerning Joja Corp and even some farm layouts for you to try, giving you plenty of content to have fun with.

7Check out other farm layouts

So it’s probably the case that you haven’t checked outthe other farm layouts. Well, they’re not just there for show.

Try starting another save slot and using another farm layout. We’d recommend you try the challenging beach farm.

It’s a farm layout where it’ll be harder to water your crops and limits what you can do (no sprinklers, that’s for sure) so it can keep you on your toes throughout a new playthrough.

6Redecorate your home

If you’ve come to a point where you’re getting bored in the game, then chances are you likely are at the later stages of the game where you probably have a nice big house and family. So it might be a nice time to actually attempt to go on a redecoration project.

Investing in aCatalogueandFurniture Cataloguewould be worthwhile too as you get to have access to the different wallpapers and furniture at all times.

5Befriend the townsfolk

You may be thinking that you’ve already settled down and maybe chosen a couple of other villagers that you speak to again occasionally. You might even have gotten their own heart events.

However, you should try and befriendthe other folks in the town, maybe try and become the most popular citizen of Pelican Town. You’d be surprised to see all the different heart events of the citizens as you try to max out their hearts and get closer to the characters you’ll be spending time around.

4Go down the Skull Cavern

It is a difficult feat, but you might want to try a new challenge, and why not take a trip down the Skull Cavern? The Skull Cavern can be a difficult thing to deal with, especially due to the fact that it doesn’t have an elevator.

However, this means it’s the perfect challenge to try and try again, even if it means you fail, and get you to focus on something that will keep the game challenging and less boring.

3Make the game more difficult with challenges

Perhaps you’ve already dealt with things like the Skull Cavern, so now it’s the time for custom challenges. There are plenty of fan-made challenges to make the game more fun to play such as a No Crops Challenge which means you have to make all your money without growing crops.

If you search online you may find plenty of challenges or even come up with your own. We propose a Millionaire challenge, which is a challenge to get a million gold in your first year.

2Fill up that museum

You may have forgotten about it, but the museum with Gunther could also get some love and there’s surely plenty of space in the museum that could do with some artifacts and other treasures to put on those dusty shelves.

This could be considered a nice in-game challenge that will see you exploring more and getting tidbits of lore about the history of the world. Plus you can get some nice rewards from it too.

1Go on a date with someone else

We know, we know, this is going to be a controversial one, isn’t it? But yes, while we all have our favourite spouses from the village, it might be nice to just try and expand your horizons a bit by dating somebody else.

It could be a nice change from your regular routine if you even feel some boredom when starting an entirely new playthrough and you never know, maybe that new spouse of yours could be your new favourite.
