Street Fighter 6players have discovered a new exploit that makes you completely invulnerable to throws and most attacks. As put by AnimeIsntRealMyGuy on Reddit, “If you get thrown, you tech the throw. If they meaty, you block the meaty. If they shimmy, you don’t do anything and don’t get whiffed punished”. Basically, you may automate all defences, meaning that you don’t need to react in real time to what attacks are coming your way. You’ll simply be invulnerable.

This was discovered by @ChinaTownTBB on Twitter, and YouTuber VesperArcade uploaded a video breaking down the glitch in a bid to raise awareness and hopefully get Capcom to patch it out as soon as possible. It doesn’t work forModern Controls, so you’ll have to stick with the classic scheme if you really want to try it. They show an AICammytrying to land jabs and throws but they simply can’t, as the glitch lets Vesper put up an “impenetrable defence”. The only possible way to get hit is with an overhead attack, but throws will not land.

“This is gonna destroy Ranked,” Vesper said. “You guys thought I said Ranked was easy before. Now it’s gonna be a giant mess when people know about this. At least you know when looking at someone’s replay […] they’re cheating. For tournaments, they can make sure people don’t have that button assigned […] This is just the tip of the iceberg, just the beginning of what it can do.”

“All you have to do is hold 1+MK+HK+HP, then press and hold Simultaneous Input Assistance (SAB) when you wake up,” @ChinaTowNTBB said. “This will give a throw tech if you get thrown, or a block if you don’t get thrown. You have to make sure you hold SAB for more than 5 frames. If you let go too early, your throw animation will come out.”

Given that the exploit lets you block and avoid all throws and most attacks,Capcom was quick to respond. It tweeted earlier today, “We’re aware of a bug related to throw escapes in #StreetFighter6, and are currently investigating the situation. Once we have identified the cause, we will be fixing the issue. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused our players.”

With how game-breaking the exploit is, the patch is likely imminent. At least, that’s whatfans are hoping.
