I think it’s safe to assume that fans of the series thinkThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomis a fairly big improvement over its predecessorBreath of the Wild. Not only does Tears of the Kingdom get rid of some of Breath of the Wild’s little annoyances, but it also adds enjoyable and unique abilities such as Ultrahand and Fuse. However, not all of Breath of the Wild’s best features and items made the leap to Tears of the Kingdom, and fans have been sharing what they miss most about the previous game on Reddit.
The question was first put to fellow fans by u/Sea_Law8299, who explains that the thing they miss the most is Revali’s Gale, an ability that lifted Link high up into the air and could be used up to three times in succession. It was pretty handy if you wanted to survey your surroundings in a pinch, and was replaced with Tulin’s Gust in Tears of the Kingdom, though it was probably deemed unecessary since you may just whip out a hot air balloon in a moment’s notice.

In fact, it’s not just Revali’s Gale that’s the only sorely missed ability from Breath of the Wild, as u/Strange-Shadows-45 wished that they could still use Urbosa’s Fury as they “suck at combat”. In fact, another user called u/GLight3 goes one step further and wishes you could use abilities without having to have companions accompany you like you could in Breath of the Wild. Tears of the Kingdom forces you to have avatars of your pals walk around with you if you want to use their abilities, something which isa bit of a sticking point with fans of the game.
Another feature from Breath of the Wild that gets a shoutout an awful lot is the Remote Bomb Rune, as many aren’t best pleased that it’s been taking away and think using Bomb Flowers instead is a much more irritating process for getting rid of debris. Tears of the Kingdom gives you plenty of caves to explore, but a lot of them are filled with passages blocked with rubble. There are ways to destory them that don’t take up resources, but it was always much easier just to whip out a Remote Bomb whenever something was in your way.
As for other missed features, u/Cloverose2 wishes you didn’t have to fuse items to your arrows every time you want a ranged elemental attack, u/Inevitable_Review_83 missesthe legendary Hearty Durians, and there are plenty of people that miss Breath of the Wild’s more generous drop rates.
