Over the past few days, the world of air travel inThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomhas been completely turned on its head. Not only has someone come up with a power source that allows infinite flight, but a new material has been discovered that is allowing Tears of the Kingdom players to create some truly wild creations due to how large and light it is. Hyrule’s top engineers have already been putting together all kinds of aircraft and jet planes, but one of them has added a bit of a Star Wars twist.
Today’s creation comes from u/19yellowrubberducks on the HyruleEngineering subreddit, as they’ve shared a video of themselves flying their TIE Fighter through the skies of Hyrule. From what we can gather from their video (which has been embedded down below for your viewing pleasure), it’s a pretty simple build, as the TIE Fighter is made up of several large panels with some additional blocks in the “cockpit” for some extra support.

As for how it moves, it seems to be controlled with just three fans and a steering stick, which is wild consdering how big the vehicle actually is. To put the cherry on top of the cake, the video even starts out with the player flying their TIE Fighter out of one of Tears of the Kingdom’s many hollow floating orbs that may or may not look suspiciously like the Death Star. Apparently it took “longer than i would care to admit” to actually fly the vehicle out of the orb, but it was definitely worth it for the vibe.
For those of you who are wondering what this machine is made out of, Tears of the Kingdom players recently discovered that you can wrench off the floors of those wind powered elevators you’ve no doubt come across. These floors are made out of extremely light material, meaning you can send them flying with a single fan. Players have then been fusing items to them to create Autobuild blueprints and have been duplicating the material as much as they like, leading to a revolution taking place in Hyrule’s skies.
On top of that, we also recently saw a Tears of the Kingdom player createthe game’s first perpetual flying machine that requires zero batteryto operate. Unfortunately, the creator isn’t ready to share how they made their aircraft just yet, but it’s another sign that Tears of the Kingdom’s possibilities are only limited by its players' imagination.
