InHonkai: Star Rail, Consumables can help you in battles or the overworld in a number of ways. They can boost characters' offensive and defense stats, heal and revive them, or even do special things like cause them to lose HP. That last one is more forspecial cases like Arlan, but it’s pretty useful if you use him a lot.

Consumables can’t be used everywhere, but you’re sure to come across some challenges in places where youcanuse them. So, having some of them synthesized and on hand is a smart idea. There are a lot of them, but synthesizing the best will save you time and ingredients.

7Trick Snack

Techniques are quite convenient, which is why you should spend your Technique Points wisely. But the Trick Snack relieves some of that burden by restoring two Technique Points when you use it. It’s a one-star Consumable, so it’s pretty easy to make, which almost makes it a little overpowered.

Needless to say, having Trick Snacks on hand to replenish your Technique Points is never a bad idea, as you’ll want touse characters' Techniquesas often as possible to have the upper hand in battles. This is especially the case for tougher battles.

6Camo Paint

Sometimes you just don’t want to fight every enemy you come across. Camo Paint helps with that, as it’s a Special Consumable that will make you much less detectable for 75 seconds, allowing you to run past enemies you don’t want to fight. This Consumable is a two-star, so it’s still relatively easy to make.

Of course, Seele’s Technique has a similar effect, though that only lasts for 20 seconds. Plus, it’s more for having an immediate advantage in battle rather than avoiding enemies. So whether or notyou have Seele, Camo Paint is still good to have a couple of.

5Life Transmitter

No matter the RPG, you should always have at least a few items that revive characters. This game is no exception, so Life Transmitters can be lifesavers — literally. They revive downed characters and restore ten percent of their HP. Luckily, it’s a two-star Consumable, so it’s not very hard to make at all.

You also don’t need to find a recipe for it first; it’s already available to synthesize from the beginning. Really, there’s no reason not to make a few Life Transmitters to keep on hand for hard fights or unexpected deaths.

4Enhancement Paste

If you want to go on the offensive, a good way to do so is by using the Enhancement Pastes that you may synthesize. There are multiple types of Enhancement Paste, one for every element, so it’s best to stock up on the ones that enhance whichever characters you use the most. Enhancement Pastes increase the DMG of their respective element by 24 percent for all characters.

It’s an especially powerful Consumable if you have more than one character with the same element in a team, since you only need one Enhancement Paste to power all of them up. Being a three-star Consumable, it’s nottoohard to make them.

3Comfort Food

The rarity of Consumables indicates not only how strong their effects are, but also how easy or difficult their ingredients are to acquire. If you wanted to restore characters' HP with a Consumable, something that would restore a big chunk at once would seem like the best choice.

But in reality, it’s much more efficient to make multiple HP recovery Consumables and use them continuously. That’s why Comfort Food is one of the best Consumables: one use restores a character’s HP by 15 percent of their Max HP, with an additional 150 HP bonus. Since it’s a one-star Consumable and available by default, it’s very easy to make and use a bunch of them, compared to making only a few of a four-star Consumable that restores more HP.

2All Good Potion

If you’ve playedGenshin Impact, Energy plays the same role in Honkai: Star Rail. Making sure your characters get enough Energy tounleash their Ultimatescan be your saving grace in tough battles. The All Good Potion gives a 50 percent Energy boost to one character, so it’s incredibly useful if you need to use an Ultimate and are running low.

It’s also a three-star Consumable, which is a steal for something as worthwhile as an Energy-restoring Consumable. Keep some on hand, because they can end up being your ticket to victory.

1Longevity Pills Of Cruelty

If you’re struggling to keep your team’s HP relatively full, using a Longevity Pill of Cruelty instead of many HP-restoring Consumables could save you time, items, and frustration. It increases the entire team’s Max HP by 20 percent, as well as giving their Effect RES a six percent boost.

So, they’ll all be a little sturdier, with a bonus of resisting status ailments more easily. This way, you won’t have to spend as many turns healing or reviving instead of attacking. It’s a four-star Consumable, so it’s not as simple to synthesize as other ones, but it can be worth the effort. And if you’re able to’t afford to make it, Bottled Soda is a decent two-star alternative.
