Video games are designed to capture your heart and captivate you with their narratives, gameplay, and designs. Some of the best are filled with locations that are mixed with danger, safety, and in some special cases, cosiness. Sometimes these places are entirely optional, while others are where our journey begins.

12The Ranch - Slime Rancher
The Ranch inSlime Rancheris a place of conflicting emotions. It is home, your refuge in this strange place you found yourself. It will wrench at you with loneliness yet somehow invite you to stay in its warm embrace. All of these feelings are compounded by the overall narrative and backstory, which is explained through correspondence with someone extremely dear to you who you left behind to pursue this life.
You want to return there, but you feel a slight sadness every time you do. Despite this and the somewhat freaky nature of the slimes you are corralling into cages and harvesting, there is apleasantness to the ranch.Perhaps it is because a letter from Casey is waiting for you there?
11Corvo Bianco - The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt

But Toussaint seems to be a far cry from the horrors of other locations in the Continent where The Witcher takes place. There is something so relaxing about Corvo Bianco that you may’t help but feel glad for Geralt that this is his final reward.
Few Witchers will die happy in their beds, and Corvo Bianco could be the place Geralt finally retires at. He can live out his life in peaceful, winey bliss alongside Yennefer or Triss, and enjoy a visit from Ciri – but hopefully not Dandelion. With so much horror outside your door in The Witcher, Corvo Bianco does an excellent job at making this feel like one of the safest and cosiest places you could want.
